Shame on me!!! I haven't read it before!!How Can I Have Missed It? I've read The Stand by Steven King ("L'ombra dello scorpione" in Italy) years ago and it was my favourite book till I discovered Nightfall by Asimov and Silverberg.... but that's a different story :D!
