11/5/08 05:42 am (UTC)And this is so much more than just a race issue, I truly believe that this man can bring about the change we've been needing. His stance on the issues did not change from the time he announced his campaign to now. This is the people's president and not just another crony of an old regime. Look at the crowd in Grant Park. That is what America looks like. Diverse. This is the America I believed could happen, people of a variety of races, ethnicities, backgrounds, ages, sexual orientations, all standing together celebrating the same thing...I don't know how I'll get to sleep.

11/5/08 06:03 am (UTC)shit, you made me cry all over again. Mr. Roxy and I watched his speech and cried, I called the kids, my cousins...girl, every time I stop and take a breath, I can't believe it all over.
He is a president for everyone--he's intelligent, articulate, and no doubt will surround himself with folks the same.

11/5/08 06:20 am (UTC)As Jon Stewart said tonight, the U.S. has finally become a "show" country instead of a "tell" country. Freedom, liberty, opportunity... all those things America stopped standing for over the last eight years, and all those things that were given lip service for so long... You've done an amazing thing tonight as a country, and you should all be proud to be Americans.

11/5/08 02:39 pm (UTC)this is one of those things where someday it'll be, "where were you the day Barack Obama was voted President?"
just...wow. wow, America. FINALLY!

11/5/08 06:38 pm (UTC)It's a fine mother fucking day.
I couldn't sum it up better because I don't have any words. I'm beyond words. It's......incredible!
And I think about how my mom, being a child visiting family in Texas and having to sit in a segregated section of the train---it's astounding that America has come to this place in time.
