I had a little idea about Clark and Lex discovering something about themselves at a strip club but it seemed really familiar...am I trying to rewrite someone's story? Does this sound familiar?

i remember one where lex took clark to a strip club, but they wound up outside against a wall, together. ahhh, can't remember the title or author. but there's nothing wrong with using an idea your own way, i think. plus, i want to read it. :)

Sparks by Pru and jenn

Seedy by Rhiannonhero

are the two I usually think of for revelations at a strip club, but I agree with [livejournal.com profile] myownghost that you should apply your own magic to it.

Please?

*hugs and makes puppy eyes*

That seems like a general theme that's been done before, but it's not like you couldn't do it, too, and probably do it better than a lot of other stories out there.

I think I also remember reading a couple where Lex takes Clark out to a strip club for his birthday. But I agree with Quiet_Tiger! Just because other people have done strip clubs doesn't mean that you would do an awesome strip club fic, yourself! There's always room for more strip clubs, I say!!

It's like a tenative genre in our fandom.

I say go for it anyway! My lit professor says that there are no new stories out there, just good writers who make an old story seem new. ;)

I wrote one along these lines, but it was an underground club and Lex was submitting to this guy called Lucifer, and Clark got involved.

I wrote one at a strip club, Dancing at the Purple Parrot, but honestly, I think the club fic is almost a staple in the fandom. I wouldn't worry about it. Just do your thing. It's bound to be different from anyone else's just because it's yours.

There have been a few about Clark and Lex at strip clubs, either working there or watching. But there can NEVER be enough stripper Clex... especially if you're writing it. ;D hehe

Yeah, I'm not thinking that I'll bring something brand new, I was just afraid of rewriting someone else's story--literally! I read so much that I've forgotten huge chunks of what I've read and I'm always terrified it'll turn up in a fic I'm writing. *G*

As long as I'm sure I'm not rewriting someone else's story, I think I'll give it a shot. I can always get [livejournal.com profile] danceswithgary to check it for me. :)

I agree; anything that can be written, Shakespeare has already done. However, that doesn't mean we can't give it a whirl!

;D

I wrote one based on the song 'Closer' by Nine Inch Nails, remember?
