Please stop making Thomas out to be an asshole, or an idiot or a jerk or all three. Pick someone else to be the bad guy! Where is this characterization coming from, for crying out loud? Also, please explain why in AUs, Mikey is always bald? And border-line insane, or so stupid he can't find his ass with both hands and a map?

Ya'll stop now, or I'll have to write my own. Honestly.

Because I remember I read a few where all four of them were shiny and happy. And honestly . . . why would Tom beat up Jensen? *eye roll*

Ok . . . maybe if he was flirting a little too much with Michael . . .

*agrees with you* The ones that aren't totally AU and have all the guys hanging out together are okay. I've just noticed that the ones that have the guys in a totally different situation and circumstances always seem to cast Tom as the mean/dumb boyfriend of either Jensen or Jared that the other one has to rescue/fix.

It does rather amaze me how consistent several characterizations are of the CW people for no real reason that I know of... The way I've read it: Tom=boring or evil, jerky ex; Mike=crazy, bald, childish prankster, but really a harmless good guy; Jamie=not actually ever present; Chad="total douche" +/- redeeming quality of being loyal friend; Chris Kane=violent asshole which is totally made up for by being insanely loyal to friends (read Steve and Jensen).

These are even more consistent than portrayals seen in fanfic of the actual characters on the show...
