If I were to ever write J2, I'd envision Tom's place as off to the side, being quietly amused at the shenanigans and making dry-as-dust asides to the audience. Sort of like a Greek-god chorus. :-)
Now *that* I could definitely live with,and in fact, in one fic I read that was pretty much his function--that, and keeping Jensen's ego under control. I thought it worked really well.
Otherwise it's just Jensen and Tom playing golf and being nice to each other. Which might be reality, but it makes for crappy fic.

The blue eyes, though, that's just annoying.
