Sam came back from Hell all frakked up mentally, but he decided to give into his "normal" fetish and leave Dean with Lisa and Ben. Without Dean to call him on his BS, he fell prey to his tendency to believe anyone who tells him there's an easier way to hunt, even when critical thought or common sense says otherwise. Ruby told him the blood would give him power to whack demons, and he fell for it without thinking it through. Samuel tells him, trust your family, we know how to do it right, and he falls for it without thinking it through. Smart money says Sam's about to get a nasty wake up call in the form of his undead relatives turning on him; fortunately, Dean and the Impala are on the way.
AMEN, sister. Was I only one (besides twinsarein for sure, to whom I already mentioned this) who was really pissed off at Sam for telling those cousins about Dean's trip to the Pit? And the, uh, torturing? Cos the way Cousin #2 just casually tossed off that reference and made fun of Dean? So. Not. Cool. Seriously, Sam? If he's the one who told them, then I. . .

*pouts* That being said, I still liked tonight's episode. What can I say? I just can't stay mad. Show abuses us and then it brings the flowers and candy. It draws us a bath and-- well, of course I forgive it! Show loves us! It does. And the Pain will never happen again. Right?
