And I absolutely agree: This view of Sam totally fits Show's canon. But in fandom he's usually redeemed a bit, I guess, which is one of the countless things I like about it (Show!Sam is not necessarily the way I see him in my own personal head!canon, you know... ;)). But as I said, for your fic it fit perfectly.
