I'm not sure I want to watch Arrow. I didn't like Oliver murdering people on SV & if it's a regular thing on the new show, no thanks. I like my heroes a little sweeter.

Also annoyed that they're apparently recycling all the SV sets!

Did you enjoy tonight's SPN? I liked it, though both Sam & Dean were a little too unconcerned for civilian collateral damage for my taste. (Dean makes sense if he's messed up post-purgatory, but where's gentle, caring Sammy?) Also, lol that even in purgatory Dean ends up with TWO boyfriends.

I miss Lex and Clark fiercely.
Always. Our beautiful boys.

I *LOVED* tonight's show, but you know, I like them dark and creepy. ;) Dean is definitely hard, hard, hard and that's not really his character. Sam's always had that potential, which we saw plenty times but Dean always had a nugget of purest marshmallow deep in his soul, at least that's how I saw him. Now, not so much.
Also, lol that even in purgatory Dean ends up with TWO boyfriends.

I really liked Arrow, sweetie. Believe it or not they were very faithful to Ollie's history with regards to the island and his being a useless playboy beforehand. Even the darkness of the show is nothing new, you should read 'Long Bow Hunters' sometime. Ollie has long been a hero who fiercely believed in doing what he thought was right, no matter what.

I loved Mia's Speedy in the comics and it looks like they're patterning his sister after her since he's too young to have an adopted ward in the show.

I'm looking forward to seeing where they take it. Plus, it's always nice to see Paul Blackthorne anywhere on my tv. I loved the Dresden Files, his Harry was amazing! :)

ps
I've been going back and re-reading some Clex lately, I still love them both like woah even after all these years.

Dean is more badass than he has ever been, and I'm loving it. He's been seriously hardened by his experiences and his choices, but I'm loving what a serious hunter that's making him out to be.

I'm not much into Heidi!Sam (god, I love that), but we got a hint this week that Sam did more than get domesticated during his year. He threw out that reverse exorcism like he's done it once or twice before.

I miss Clex, too. I haven't written since last February, and I miss it so much. Plus, there doesn't seem to be that many new stories to read. *pouts*

Oh, right? That reverse exorcism line was a little too glib, I thought. And that whole little preview of Sam and that girl--man, that was mean because that was Dean's dream when Sam and he went dream-walking, (whatever that ep was, before Dean went to hell, anyway.) He saw Lisa setting up a picnic for them. That scene just made me shake my head.

I miss the idea of Clex, and I miss those early seasons where the love was obvious. :)

And I'm not really missing the Clex, but that's probably because I wasn't really in the fandom when it was a *thing* so I don't notice the difference so much. Though I do wish people were writing Clex fics more often :(.

The more ridiculous and over the top Sam's disguise/costume/persona is the better; ideally he would be singing "The Sound of Music." The hills are alive and Sam needs to let the world know.

Man, I always come into fandoms late after all the cool stuff has already happened. *pouts* I need to work on that.

Heee! Is Arrow bad? I saw the last bit before Show started and it seemed awfully...overwrought. I dunno. Not something i really care much for. Although i'm perfectly fine with 'our hero/ine' killing the bad guys. That should happen *more* often, really.

Show - oh, Show! Yes, this hardened, super!hunter Dean is so awesome. But sad. I know he's still season one Dean deep down - he's still the guy who stargazed with Sam and got Lucas to talk and loves his family but....

Oh, Dean.
*sniffle*

And yes! Reverse exorcism - there has to be *so much more* to what's going on with Sam. Can't wait for next week!

Same with the craptacular promo pics. As long as someone is saying something about it and the promos they count it all good press.

I think the CW's publicity department's motto is "Look at all the fcuks I give!"
Photobucket

I mean, aren't these the folks who lost Chloe's leg? Or was it Lois' leg? Someone lost a limb....

Lois and then Lois head was transposed on to Lana's body IIRC.

Speaking of losing something, today, I miss Lex and Clark fiercely. It's probably that show Arrow. It had such a Smallville Being Serious look to it.

So many SV memories came flooding back like shirtless guys and shady family members. Nothing beats SV but I'm happy with Arrow. It's a nice replacement show.

He killed folks though--shocking. I don't want to spoil anyone in case they were desperately waiting for Arrow to show but wow, that guy's kind of cold-blooded. I might have to watch again.

Even Lex would be like, "I thought I was about that life. It took me years to murder someone and I'm the villain of the story!" I like this incarnation of Oliver. It's a departure from SV and the comics but I love the mythology the show is trying to build.

And then speaking of cold-blooded, I don't hate what they did with Dean this season. He's as screwed up as ever, just in the opposite way he was after hell. It's a real treat for folks into Wolf!Winchesters.

I like it. I'm actually happy. I don't mind tortured! and Niagara Falls Eyes Dean but I love that finally he's borken, like you say in the opposite way. It makes sense considering the future!Dean from "IN the End". I think it finally sunk in that he tries to do all the right things, he tries to keep his humanity yet he keeps getting kicked in the teeth for that consideration. So if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. And acquire a new boyfriend while you're doing it. He's so Erica Kane.

And next week, we get a look at Heidi!Sam. A treat for those folks into...well, I don't know anyone into Sam pretending to be Fraulein Maria. Maybe it won't be that bad

I nearly fell out when Crowley called him Samantha because I just imagined Sam with his hair in two pigtails and a cosmo in his hand.

I think the CW's publicity department's motto is "Look at all the fcuks I give!"

Right? They thumb their noses at us! Or would, if they weren't up their asses.

Arrow I was kind of meh about except for that bit when he snapped that guy's neck like *what*. If I was Arrow I'd be all, stop holding up the line searching for a penny in the bottom of your damn suitcase masquerading as a purse--*SNAP*. I said no cream, no sugar damn it--*SNAP*. This is one of the many reasons why I'm not a superhero. That, and the fact I can't walk across the room without wheezing….

Even Lex would be like, "I thought I was about that life. It took me years to murder someone and I'm the villain of the story!" I like this incarnation of Oliver. It's a departure from SV and the comics but I love the mythology the show is trying to build.

Right? I don't mind a hero being anti-heroish. As long as they make it look good—I'm shallow like that. :)

So if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. And acquire a new boyfriend while you're doing it. He's so Erica Kane.

LOL!!!

Well, Dean's in denial, I'm thinking. He acts like he learned something fundamental about himself in Purgatory but I think it's not as simple as he's trying to lead Sam to believe. I could be wrong though—he really was cold blooded as FutureDean. Though giving in to his inner killer has really made him kinda huggy.

I really don't think I'd like Arrow at all. And I still don't, but the fact the guy--the HERO--kills people is AWESOME. I love heroes who are that human and flawed in the extreme; to the point the line between who the bad guy is and who the good guy is starts to blur. Batman killed people (in the comics) a few times and for that reason, he's actually one of my favorites of all time. Because. Batman killed people. He also lost his memory and became a crazy homeless dude at one point, which was also made of sparkly win. Bruce Wayne is so amazingly flawed and fallible that I have adored him for as long as I remember. (FYI: I have a thing for superheroes. Lol.)

Re: SPN: I think I am missing something fundamental here (as seems to be the case with me and show lately). But... What do you mean Heidi Sam? Because picturing Sam dressed up as a chick is making me feel somewhat... something I don't like Seriously. Not in a *HULK SMASH ARRR!* way (because while I'm apparently Pirate Hulk that would still be really silly of me) but in a... I just don't like that idea way. I mean, all I saw tonight was some old dude trying to sell what looked like a mummified dog penis, so I am not in the loop. At all. The way show is these days it's kind of like: Miss an episode, you're lost the whole season. I've missed two and now all I can think about is Sam in a dress. Oy.

Cold though... I like cold-blooded, especially if they're both playing at being glaciers (are they? please say yes). In fact, I would much rather cold-blooded Dean over, "every time you look at me, I will cry" Dean. Then cold-blooded Sam (not in a dress) is right where my happy button is. Jared can do cold so fucking well that it actually makes my skin crawl and I think he should totally do a guest spot on Criminal Minds as the unsub--a complete psychopath of one--someday. Because. GUH. It should not be hot. But it is. So, so, so hot...

Brb, drooling...

I completely get that. That's what makes Batman more interesting than Superman to me. I've always liked the not-quite good guy.

What do you mean Heidi Sam?

Oh, that's just my roxy way of wondering what the hell is going on in Sam's life—the previews for the upcoming week show Sam and his girl and dog apparently enjoying a picnic lunch in a meadow. Romance makes me sarcastic unless it also involves things blowing up. So not to worry, there's no actual Sam in a dress…though I'd pay cash money to see 6'4" ginormous Jared Padalecki in a dress! Ha!

Cold though... I like cold-blooded, especially if they're both playing at being glaciers (are they? please say yes).

Sadly, I must say no. :( Only Dean is being cold-blooded—and being amazing at it. Sam is being overly-patient, I Am The Voice of Reason Sam, my least favorite flavor. I agree with you about Jared completely. He's so gooood about being bad. I'd love to see him play out that roboSam role to the extreme. So what if it's wrong, him being psycho is hot like fire!

Good lord, yes. I loved the Superman movies as a kid, but Batman will always have my heart, so to speak. Him and Wolverine. And Pyro from the movies because Aaron Stanford OWNED that role. And he is also made of tiny, bizarro hotness that I cannot explain. So. Double bonus. \o/

Oh! Okay. I can live with that better than I can live with Sam in drag. It's weird, but with Dean I can totally see that. With Sam, otoh, it does not compute. I mean, my imagination will provide me with the image, but it's not a pretty picture. At all. And poor Sam looks so unhappy. Lol. Is it weird that I want to climb Jared? Because I do. But that would be inappropriate and I'd never actually attempt that. Funny to think about though. I'm totally with you about the romance crap though. Give me romantic scenes = prepare to be mocked and jeered. Add a little angst, woe, heartbreak to the Nth degree or just some general mayhem and I can tone it down.

Ahh... Okay. Hmm. Idk then. Cold Dean is still preferable to weepy Dean any day though. What I've seen of Sam so far though just continues to drive the idea into me that he is tired. Like, maybe that patience you've mentioned is actually a side-effect of something far, far deeper. Something which I am gleefully exploring and being mean about, but ya know. Whatevs. I do mean shit when I get bored. And apparently I feel like picking on Sam for this round of Why JD is an Asshole to Characters. ::ahem::

Gah, I want Robo Sam ALL THE TIME. Like, Sam on a killing spree like... like... *twitch* It's the way Jared plays it/presents it and there is a chilling level of accuracy in his portrayals of that kind of person that really makes me want to applaud him. He sells the idea with every gesture, each lack of inflection, the falsely charming and the sadistically amused and I... I... *no words* I am a fan, let's just leave it at that.

Btw: Thank you, yet again, for keeping me in the loop and helping me to feel not as lost. I appreciate it muchly. *candies for you*
