Rec me the hottest *and* smartest Wincest you've ever read! It can be J2 as well, I'm easy. I just want that it should be more than 'insert part into slot A' type of porn. I say this because the amount of porn this fandom produces is exhausting and not all of it is worth clicking on. Like anything, of course. Every box of chocolates have, ick, caramels in them. Some are disguised as delicious truffles but bite them and they reveal themselves to be--*caramels*! Nasty, sticky, cling to your teeth and gums bastards. They're only good when they're melted and drizzled over ice-cream.

Okay, this post is not about chocolates or ice-cream. Though both have their place in porn. Actually, not the ice-cream so much as the caramel sauce. This is where caramels are completely forgiven for their solid state because they transform into this tasty, smooth, sweet little minute in heaven...*happy sigh*. So good!

Dang, we kind of jumped the tracks on porn again. *koff* YES WE DID.

perverts.

See, I'm just curious about what y'all think makes good porn. Example? One of my favorite series,Escort AU by [livejournal.com profile] bewaretheides15, is what I think of as hot, smart porn. (well, me and the world) I love that she turns this idea of what a dom/sub relationship is on it's head--or maybe reveals the twists and turns a relationship like this can have. (I don't know. I think I'm being kinky if I leave a lamp on and unbutton the top button on my flannel nightie.) The sex is smoking hot, the writing is seductive all by itself and there's banter and Happy Jared and Sad Jared and Unsure But Toppy Jensen. It's a treat to read and experience this unfolding relationship. And that's just one story that I like very much. And I like it because it made me think a little bit about relationships like that, and how it can be about many things and be happening on many levels, stumble along but right itself eventually--just like real life. Except the partners are insanely good-looking.

Any and everything ever written by [livejournal.com profile] lustmordred. While it may be true that I am her biggest fan, I'm so for a reason, seriously. She writes sex like she's actually had sex (even though obv. it's slash, but you know what I mean, right?) and it's hot and she doesn't make me throw up in my mouth with bottom Sam because I cannot cope with that. Ugh, so wrong in my head-canon of all things. Also, she gives great PLOT and STORY to go along with her porn.

If, however, you want a straight up PWP then please allow me to rec Find a Spark by the above author. It does have underlying sorta-kinda plottiness that just lends a little extra something to it, but mostly it's PWP. I thought of it because you mentioned D/s in your post. I'm not much for D/s, but I love S&M--a subject not many people tackle, at least not where they know wtf they're talking about--but in Find a Spark, Lustmordred does just that. It's straight up S&M and it's written with a deft hand by someone who knows what's really up. Brilliant, in my opinion.

Going to shut up now, I swear.

Oh *wow*! I just read Find A Spark, and I have to say it really twisted me out. It brought all the feelings I have about D/s and intensified them! Mind you, I usually have an extremely negative reaction to anything in which one character makes another submissive to them. I think my kink is reading it to overload emotionally. This story was definitely different than those kind of stories, though they all seem to revolve around the same idea of trust *shrugs*. Reading this story felt like getting whacked in the face with a board. I just couldn't get past the *pain*! It hurts like a motherfuck to get burned, especially having a cigarette go out against your skin—yaaah! To have no control over how long or where—nope—can't get with that. I kind of lost the porn in the middle of all my mental arm-flailing, hah! Really well written, though, so it made it interesting to read, and even with the omgness of it all, they were very Sam and Dean. I can see it. :) (plus, I kind of like being sideswiped by a fic. ) All in all, interesting, and I will look at other stories by the writer. I'm sure I have read other stories because the name is so familiar. I have the memory retention of a sieve…*shakes head*

How do you worry about going on and on when you've read my responses? Lol!!

Lol, S&M is something that tends to... scare (dunno if that's the right word)... people a good bit. Personally, I don't understand it in a lot of ways, but maybe that's because I'm bent that way. I love writing it, too (This is Not an Exit and The Blood and Love Theory, for example) and yeah, trust is one thing S&M and D/s have in common. Trust is about the only thing, actually--at least when they're taken in their "purest" (bad wording, ftw) forms. There's a distinct line between the two, however, after that. Where my mind revolts at the idea of D/s in a bad way--like snicker and flail because NO--I don't recoil nearly as vehemently with S&M unless it's written badly and/or incorrectly. Namely in that people will call it S&M when it's really D/s, which tells me the author is playing in a sandbox they don't have the faintest inkling of. It's... annoying, to say the least. I actually don't mind reading D/s when it's done well, but so much of it isn't and that trust you mentioned seems to often get shoved to the wayside so far it utterly disappears. With a LOT of D/s (or BDSM) fics out there, that line becomes so blurred that it's no longer willing or anything of the sort; it becomes abusive and rapey as hell to me and I don't like that at all.

D/s seems like an almost entirely mental/psychological state, wherein masochism at least tends to also be a physical want/need. And fun factoid: There's a disorder called alolagnia (think I spelled that right) where the nerve endings misinterpret pain as pleasure. Now, tbh, that would be kind of scary to me and yet, it's also fascinating. Sadism is a mindset, I suppose, but it also doesn't mean that everyone who's the S to someone else's M is a budding serial killer or rapist either. Popular media/culture have really given the terms "sadist" and "sadism" incredibly ugly connotations. I suppose I find the S&M dynamic so much more interesting than D/s (excepting lifestyle D/s) because a lot of it reads like some kind of slap-and-tickle suburbanite weekend roleplaying thing. Mind, I don't mean all D/s, but a lot of it does and the lack of knowledge involved in writing it is really appalling a lot of the time. Again: It comes across as rapey and abusive and wrong in such a bad, bad way. S&M is a much more raw form of kink (again: bad wording, jfc) and it's not something you (generally speaking) can play at: Either you are or you aren't, it's not a fun game to play while the kiddies are away at camp for the week.

And dear lord, I meant to leave you a short reply and I've sat here and editorialized instead. What's wrong with me? *facepalm*

P.S. Burns do hurt like a motherfucker, but I loved that part of the fic. She went there, you know? Lol.

I always assumed that most of the stories I read were by folks who don't really know what the lifestyle is. Mostly I assume that because *I* have no idea what it's all about and reading a few personal accounts tell you not much.

[D/s] reads like some kind of slap-and-tickle suburbanite weekend roleplaying thing.

Yeah, and I have this awful habit of kicking myself out of fics like this by wondering how they incorporate this lifestyle with raising kids.

You can just about figure they are. Either that or they're written by the weekend warrior type kinkers who think they know what they're talking about. Then along comes someone who actually does have a clue and oh... oh... lmfao. So bad. I have actually pointed and laughed before. Shortly before I cringed due to it often slipping into the aforementioned abusive territory. D/s, yeah, it's not for me either in RL or to read (much). It really can be done well, but mostly what it is... is really misinformed sexual fantasies, I think.

Ugh. Don't get me started on kidfic or any of that. And heh, I had the misfortune of running across a real life *shakes head* D/s-er a few years back via a friend's f-list. She had several kids. It was disturbing. It's not that I think a person can't be kinky and have children at all. Things would need to be carefully balanced, I'm sure, but it could be done. However, some of the crap that woman did was flat-out endangering her children. Wow. I mean. Just. Yeah. Also, she over-shared in the most disgusting way(s) possible. It's been like... ten years... damn near it and I still have a couple of gems BURNED IN MY BRAIN. I may have to share those on my journal later. Feel my pain, f-list. :P

Ayuh, she is the one responsible for Covenant. Is it not fantastic and hurty? I just want to hug all of them.

If I might rec another of her fics--my favorite of hers by far--then allow me to offer you, There's a Hell of a Universe Next Door. There's no kinky sex in it--barely any sex at all--but it is MAGNIFICENT and I can't rec that damned story enough. I want to print it out and snuggle it; that's how much I love it. <3 x Infinity
