I'm getting old. Or getting weird, I'm not sure what it is. But lately, I've been having these...feelings. Like, last night, we went to see 42, a film about Jackie Robinson, and I could barely keep myself from crying, like, many times. And I knew if I let go, it wouldn't just be a few tears, it'd be horrible honking sobs. Plus some of you guys with your heartbreaking stories are making me snot and rain. Not only *that*, but I've been hanging out at [livejournal.com profile] spn_kinkmeme and...reading all the shmoopy prompts. Here's where it gets weird.

Weirder.

*Just* the shmoopy prompts.

IKNOWRIGHT???

I'm all, "hey cute little baby, aren't you so cute, cutest thing ever," in the streets or at work (i see lots of babies there) though I draw the line at touching one. I smile at everyone when I'm in public...granted, that's mostly to keep those droopy frown lines of age tight, not because I'm happy to see people...but still, counts as smiling. I'm turning into this horribly sentimental, crying, shmoopy...I was about to say non-porn reading granny but just the other day I read a story so hot, I was afraid I would burst into flames--then I realized I was having a hot flash and settled down some. But just a little, that story was hot. Wish I could remember what it was called. Or who wrote it. Or if it was J2 or wincest but hey, that's the way the old brain crumbles. In short, I'm getting old. And shorter, but that's a whine for another day.

So...How yoo do-in'?

HOW DO YOU LIVE LIKE THIS???

You don't have to cry to be a member, just sniffle and blink and stare watery-like at any one thing for awhile as you feel *emotions*.

*SNIFFLE* I think I'm paying for all those bitchy years when I was young and I thought the world was my mollusk. *sigh*

*clings*

Hey, how's the writing going? (Or should I not ask? Is that a jinx question? :/ )

I'm working like a woman possessed! You really helped a lot, my dear, you really did. I was going good until this morning when I woke up and the first thought in my brain was, "that story's stupid!"

I'm hopeless. But still writing! I'm going to have a first draft even if it devolves into stick figures acting out what I'm thinking!

(do you think i can get away with that?)

I'm glad I could help, Snuggles!

And I for one would go pretty far to see a first draft like that! Who doesn't love stick figures acting out stories? :)

Hey, unrelated but I know you're good at this kind of thing, do you have any good, blasphemous, 30s era swears? I need one: STAT! :)

Damn is always a good all purpose one for the era, but some naughty words are pretty specific. Thirties weren't as blasphemous as we are now--what's the situation the need-to-curse one is in?

I lost my good links when the Magic Brick shuffled off this mortal coil, but you could also try the mobster sites.

Enh, I just went with good ol' "Jesus, Mary, and Joseph." I needed something Catholic, and that worked. Does that work, do you think? (Not anachronistic, is it? *wibbles*) Thanks, though, hon!
