The Niece wrote on her FB page about Terry Pratchett: "My family bonded over these books, and I feel like I grew up in some part in the world that this man created. I always felt proud of my sci-fi/fantasy family lineage--these books were on the wall next to where I slept, and I used to imagine that stars and dragons and magic were seeping into the room and I absorbed them. Where is the Discworld now?

“Humans need fantasy to be human. To be the place where the falling angel meets the rising ape.” RIP Terry Pratchett

My younger son was a huge Pratchett fan and read all those books in high school. That's a fabulous line about fantasy, the angel, and the ape.

Oh, gods.
It hit me so hard, when Darkhavens told me this morning. It's just....
Fuck.

And coming so soon after Mr. Nimoy.... I can barely stand it.
Beautiful, beautiful eulogy.
