How many times have you been stopped by the police--without doing anything to give them a reason to stop you, like speeding, or weaving all over the road, or throwing stuff out the window?

I haven't been pulled over - in fact I drove by a RBT stop - the cops pulled over the people in front of me, took a look at me and waved me on, then pulled over the people behind me. If I was any whiter, I'd be albino - in fact I'm so white I'm almost blue - so I'm not likely to get that kind of grief. Blonde, fat, middle-aged female - in this society, I'm one step down from invisible.

I sound like I'm making light of the situation, but what we see in the press from your country? It's heart breaking. Fancy coming to Australia? As long as you come by plane and not boat, you'll be pretty damned safe here.

Not lately--I'm in that invisible state, too. Fat, white-haired, and I might as well admit, light-skinned enough that a lot of white people think I'm white, or hope I'm white, I'm never sure which.
