I was unspoiled for actors and writers, so I came at it with the blankest of blank slates, and I was more than pleased. I was loud, and gaspy, and Show gave me a tension stomach ache! Jared and Jensen added so much to the ep just by being so very damn GOOD. This hiatus is going to fry my brains!!!

What blew my mind

Is when Crowley says to Rowena that Sam wouldn't be stupid enough to make a deal with Lucifer. Really, Crowley? Seriously? You've known these boys for, what, six years, and you think the guy who *said yes to Lucifer once before* isn't fully capable of doing it again if he thinks it will save the world. These are the words that actually came out of your mouth, are they?

omgosh, I need to rewatch because I didn't catch that. You know, I think I was so completely horrified by the whole thing that I missed major parts. I think I spent most of those scenes peaking between my fingers because I couldn't *believe* that they'd even hint that the whole Lucifer-Sam thing might be a possibility. I mean, sure, I figured it had to be Satan sending Sam those visions but the whole time I *reeeeally* hoped that it was God. Silly me to even hope because when have they done anything ever but kick Sam in the teeth?

Yeah, it's when Crowley and Rowena are on the balcony, leaning on the railing. Talk about jaw-on-the-floor! When has any Winchester ever been anything but dumb enough to deal? John traded himself and the Colt to Azazel for Dean, Dean sold his soul for Sam, Sam got stuck at the bargaining stage trying to keep Dean out of Hell, Dean only doesn't say yes to Michael because Castiel gave him a fairly epic beat down and reading of the riot act, Adam does say yes to Michael, Sam says yes to Lucifer, Bobby (an honorary Winchester for this one) sells his soul to Crowley, Dean spends a day as Death to get Sam's soul back, they make a deal with Crowley for the blood to kill the Leviathans, and I literally had to go to Season Eight to find a season where no Winchesters made deals only to find *Castiel* making a deal with Metatron to close Heaven! And then Season 9, episode 1, Dean makes a deal with Ezekiel/Gadreel to save Sam's life and takes on the Mark of Cain later the same season, and we all know where *that* lead. And that's just the deals, not the other idjit decisions.

But speaking of Lucifer, Michael, and Adam, shouldn't they have *all* been in the cage? That was the whole big endgame of Season 5, and why Sam's soul was all fragile when he got it back in Season 6, on account of having been the chew toy of two pissy, confined Archangels, right? So where are Michael and his vessel? Continuity?!

A lot of folks have said that that wasn't the "cage" cage, just a place to hold Lucifer, and by what happened, something that Lucifer allowed. Maybe Michael couldn't muscle his way into that cage with Lucifer?

Well, yeah, they made a point of explicitly stating that they were *bringing* him to the Cage of Stupid Assumptions and Negotiations, but every time they talk about the Proper Cage, they talk like only Lucifer was in it. Okay, so whatever's left of Adam probably is beyond all retrieval after five and a half years as the chew toy of two Archangels, but could we get a mention of how we want to be careful who we summon because Michael is super peeved and super humorless about the whole "locked in a small room with the brother he dropkicked into perdition" thing and Michael doesn't play? It could've been a great bit of interplay between Crowley and Rowena.
