Watching season 1 on TNT and am reminded why I gave it a pass the very, very first time around--Dean/Jensen kinda creeps me out. Those first few eps he was that kind of pretty that I just don't like. Towards the end of the season he got so much better. ;D

Man, Show got better fast, though, didn't it? When I watch those old eps I'm always impressed with how quickly the show found its footing.

And!!!! Season 10 is marathoning on Sunday! Which, correct me if I'm wrong--and horribly, I'm sure I'm not--is Super Bowl Sunday. This is a dilemma, as I'm being forced to hosting a SBP at the Rose manse. Would it be rude to fling food at my guests and then rewatch Show while they're cheering on I don't even know and could care less? My sole interest in football is stuff like the QB 'Verse. Y'all know my boysnsports kink. Weird, since I hate exercising *and* watching people do it. But I digress--

Sympathies on the SBP! Although I like the social aspect of such, but the football part is :-P LOL re: food flinging!!! DOOOO EEEET!!!!!

Yeah, way back when I watched the first 3 eps and was eh. It was season 3 that sucked me in, and I caught back up.

So, yeah, I'll be watching the marathon instead of the game--and as a fun lead up to the festivities, we're dealing with *another* flood in the kitchen! This makes the fourth time our kitchen has flooded as a result of human stupidity...we're so lucky. ;D

Dean just keeps getting more and more breath-taking...*siiiiigh*

I've got two words for you, regarding the sudden improvement in Season one: Kim. Manners. Show owes him a deep, deep debt for helping the Js find and explore their characters, for his guidance, and his knowing when to get out of the way.

Regarding SBP? I gots nothin'. OH records and FFs through the commercials and talking heads, but what I'd do, on my own? Is FF the game and stop and watch all the commercials, so high is my disinterest in the football. The SB commercials are the best part!

And while I will occasionally stop and watch when something I like is on TNT, I usually avoid it if I care about it, because the scenes are not only clipped to make more minutes for commercials, the footage is sped up a little, which makes Jensen's voice sound even higher than it was then! Plus, syndication subs the music (because the station running the series in syndication doesn't want to pay for the rights), which for the first few seasons of SPN, is both jarring and a tragedy.

Man, I'm watching season one and it's unbelievable what a difference he made to them. The man was a genius, he led them to the eight place for their characters and took it out of teen-oriented spookshow into this layered, amazing thing it still is today.

I watched Skin recently and it looked like they added the music back into it--but they are still slicing bits out of the show to make room for commercials. If you've never seen the original run, it's not that noticeable, but they've cut all the "take a breath" bits they used to lead into commercials with.

Oh my, I really had a thing against poor Jensen when he was young--I saw him as the epitome of pretty-boy teen heartthrob and not much else. Imagine my surprise when I got past that, and saw that he was really an incredible, very talented actor. And he just gets better with age!

Yurk. How I despise football, and everything about it. The hyper-macho crap, the violence, the hypocrisy and the *religion* throw in on top of it all. It makes me cringe.

If the SB people are dear friends, well....um. Have a lappie and a set of headphones and you can sit in the kitchen and 'tend' the food and talk to whomever comes in to eat and enjoy Show.

If they're all Mr. Roxy's friends, hie thee hence to the bedroom and enjoy guilt free!

*damn you, now i'm reading football kink*

Heeeeee!
I guess because Jared said he never played? I dunno. It's...okay sometimes, but depressing to read about character that dare not be 'out' because it's sports. I don't like to read depressing stuff like that so much.....

Well, you know what an angsthoor I am, so I'm perfectly okay with stories that depict that. I think I like the stories that end up working through that to a happy or at least satisfying conclusion the best. I mean, I don't want drama for drama's sake (you know what I mean!) because there's just too much of it in real life. At least when I read these stories, I know they are going to end happy, unlike RL. ;)

Also, just recently on the Pinterest, I saw a picture of BabyJared--like, seriously infant Jared--on the court in uniform....didn't play basketball, or just didn't play it well, hmmmm, young Jared? :D :D :D

I think i remember him saying he didn't play well, at some con...i dunno. He was a nerdy kid. Heh.

Yeah, i'm glad fic, at least, mostly has happy endings, but i just don't care for too much angst in my fantasy. :)

Thanks, sweetie! We've gone through a lot of drama this past year as Pats fans, but Good will triumph over Evil! :)

When SPN first started, Dean's voice was weird to me -- all pinched and higher pitched. Now he's all gruff and manly.

furfaraw says that part of that is because they slightly sped up the film in order to jam more commercials in syndication--and also, yes, he had a riiiiilly unDeanlike voice back in the day. He was so young when he started out, all willowy and high-voiced...god, he must have had a *miserable* time auditioning.
