I know most were heartily sick of him, but I'm going to miss Crowley. He got all the good lines, didn't worship the Winchesters but still, in that black little walnut that might have been his heart, he kinda liked them. Because everyone kinda likes the Winchesters, even if they hate them.

Crowley! Who's gonna get your lines now? Who has the umpf to carry them off?

I've told you my Firefly story about Mark, right? I'll always have so much love and respect for him, simply for that.

He played Badger in Firefly, where I first remember him--of course he was in X-Files when he was even younger.

Anyhoo, there was a whole kerfuffle about organizers putting together a Firefly con in LA, about a year after the last ep had aired. People sent in money for hotel rooms and con reservations--I think they even sold packages, including plane fare. The first con-goers arrived at the hotel by taxi, not having been met, as promised, at the airport, only to find no organizers, and no reservations. It was all a scam. As news got out online, some people cancelled their flights, but for others it was too late, so some got on the plane and hoped things would be sorted by the time they arrived.

Fellow BtVS fans who were legit event organizers stepped in and found hotel rooms--not all in the same hotel, but places for people to land, and notices and info went up on the Firefly board. Which was read by most of the cast. Who leapt into action, coming down to spend some time schmoozing with the fans. Fillion showed up with a box of his own souvenirs to either give away or raffle. Tim Minear got a room, a projector and screen, and brought his own DVDs from the set, and gave several hours of BTS info and Q&A.

Clare Kramer (Glory, from Buffy) and her hubby had just bought and rehabbed a bar--it was a week before legal opening, but she opened it for a private party, just for the fans. Tudyk, Baldwin, Maher and some guest stars showed up at the party, as did Mark--who was not a regular cast member.

When somebody asked him why he was there, at a botched con for a failed and canceled series, he smiled and said, "Darling. Where else would I be?"

I've loved him for that ever since.
