This year is almost over--I can't believe it. So much has happened this year-- some of it pleasant, some of it horrible, pretty much like any year, I suppose.
My little infants have flown the nest, and are doing very well in school, so that's good. My Beloved Niece is leaving for Ireland tomorrow, and that's good and very bad--she's like my own clone, my mini-me. I'm going to miss her like anything--shit shit shit. but I'm really happy that she gets a chance for a unique experience-- everyone should travel, it's so good for you. Plus, hey! Irish guys!
My child, the fruit loops of our loins, is doing very very well in art school and enjoying it and that's a plus. It's hard to separate yourself from your child-- I look up into her little face and remember looking down, I remember picking her up and snuggling her little baby scented self. Time marches on, my beloveds, time marches on.
and speaking of changes--This Thing Of Ours has brought so many into my life. I enjoy it so--well except for those moments where I'm laying in bed, staring at the ceiling and worrying obsessively how Clark would react in a situation I plan to drop him into. Once I only worried about how my tomatoes would get through a late cold snap...tsk. Now I worry "Can lip balm provide enough lubricant for a comfortable screw?" and "how much blood is too much blood?"
I've said this before but I want to say it again-- you folks are the best in the world. You're so friendly, so sweet and so kind--I wish i could do something wonderful for each of you, but all I can do is write the best I possibly can, and entertain you for a bit. Not that I'm some selfless saint of Porn, here, the joy your feedback gives me is so addictive and so heartwarming it makes me smile all over. it's not much of an exaggeration to say I live for it. *sigh*
I'm not making any New Years Resolutions, but I do want to do better at feedback to all you brilliant writers. The original reason I got this thing was to tell ya'll how much I love you.
Faculty Folks! Please, let's have more-- I miss your brilliant tales and I think you ladies know who I'm eyeballing-- BDS'ers, brilliant, but please lets have more, there can never be too much Conner and Murph, how I wish I could write in that fandom *sigh*
All my Smallville ladies, ya'll rock! What can I say, our fandom is amazing. Best writers best brains best looking--I say this because I've seen pics and whoo-hoo! But that's not important-- what is is how lovely you are to the newcomers in your midst. I like that about you.
Ah, BtVS, AtS, how I miss you. I do. If not for
tabaqui and
nashmaveric I might not read it at all anymore and that makes me sad. Open On Sunday keeps me connected though, those ladies are dedicated drabblers, and create incredible works-- (Wednesday 100, I'm looking at you sternly. Who me? Shut up.)
At any rate, I've babbled on long enough, for the moment. I'm home from work, and I'll be coming at you all day, YaY! heee! Be afraid, be very afraid....

12/31/04 05:00 am (UTC)And you know what one of my favorite parts is? When you tell us what the previous parts of your WIPs are doing. It always cracks me up. "filling out unemployment forms, and asking how you spell fellatio" is still one of my favorites. :)
