I'm watching the Buffy ep "The Body" and the beginning is just as heartbreaking as it was the first time I watched it.

It's been a good Sunday, just doing some reading and some light (extremely light) cleaning, watching the Buffy marathon on SyFy, spending some quality time with Mr R. ♥

Summary: At age twenty, "Blind Artist" Jensen Ackles became a successful, world renowned Abstract Impressionist painter by painting what he saw. However, fourteen years later, Jensen feared that what was left of his poor eyesight was coming to an end sooner rather than later and wanted his work to carry on after his colors faded to black. Jensen takes on an aspiring, talented young artist, Jared T. Padalecki, as his apprentice.

"It might be a bumpy ride, but I swear, it'll be worth it."

"I know what it looks like, but this is how I see it."

Jensen Ackles on his art, as told to Misha Collins,
Edition # 317, I Am Every Man magazine.

Friends, usually stories that center around art in some way kind of suck. There, I said it. If you know something about art, than you know most writers don’t get it right. But this story worked for me. The descriptions of Jensen's art was beautifully done. In my comments I said the author had very interesting things to say about loyalty, love, expectations and how we can be incredibly aware of our surroundings, our feelings, and still be blind to the people around us—when you read the story you'll see what I meant.

And thank you [livejournal.com profile] stir_of_echoes for the lovely, lovely clip of Jensen. Too hot!

Also, I hear Jared and Genevieve are expecting again.

I'm watching a weird flick from the forties with a hideous singing puppet robot thing, don't ask me why.
