Things I did for myself this past week:
1) I bought Beanie Sigel's CD. Not bad, not evry cut is a winner, but I adore "I Can Feel It In The Air" I looove that.
And "Gotta Have It" is real good too. I'm glad I hit a sale though...
2) Went to see Sin City. Mr. Roxy took me actually. Yeah, suck up, Negro, suck up...It was...good, visually it was fabulous. Black and white gore is even more horrifying then technicolor blood and guts. The story was interesting, a little heavy handed in spots, but I could see they were trying to create a total atmosphere of nior. Umm, Josh Harnett, you might wanna reconsider that restraining order you have against me--looks like you might need some love, considering you were in this flick about ten minutes. I can see the chat you had with *your* agent. "Swear to Gawd, Josh baby, this is a pivotal character, the whole film hinges on your six lines of dialogue." Yeah. Micky Rourke suffered from type-casting as usual--naw, kidding. He got to play a psychotic killer who thinks he's a good guy...wait a minute--type casting! I really enjoyed his bit in the film. Strange but good. And Elijah Wood played the creepiest little meat puppet ever. It was fun.
3) I bought myself a lovely new fruit bowl, pedestal style. It's bright red on the out side and the inside of the bowl is painted in colorful stripes, very Mexican-influenced. It makes me smile to look at it. I bought it at Target--hey, did you know Target has some real pretty housewares? THis is al part of my new game-plan, house-wise. I'm going to bring in bright colors, sunny colors. Maybe it will inspire me to actually clean the joint once in a while. Not that we're standing knee deep in dust or anything. ("why, yes, it is gray shag carpeting, unique no?"))
