Children can be horribly difficult. [livejournal.com profile] herohunter got me in a nostalgic mood this morning, thinking about my beloved Baby Girl and what an extremely difficult child she was. Oh, she was wonderfully well-mannered , loving and obedient, it's just that she never, ever slept, and she never ever ever wanted to be without me. Ever. Think Manitou, or any flick where the guy pulls up his shirt and there's a face in th middle of his chest. She was aspiring for that kind of closeness it seemed. Creepy? You bet? Annoying and exasperating? You bet!
Thus, God in her wisdom, makes kids so darn cute, you can't bring yourself to smother them in their sleep. Wanna see how cute?

Soooooo cute! I know what you mean. My son spends almost all his time with me and when I go to work on the weekend he asks me to stay at home with him because he will miss me. He wants to sit on my lap a lot. It's great but sometimes I just need a break.

I know exactlly what you mean--Baby Girl is 18 now, and when she's home from school, she expects lap to be available when she wants it. Of course, I have to act like I don't like it and and complain a lot--but we both know I love it! *grin*
Motherhood fries braincells, tsk!
