*pets you* I understand, I really do. To the "normal" world, our retail jobs are nothing, but to us? Hell. I worked 8 days straight a little while back, and it wasn't easy, but hey--we do what we have to do, right?
So I take my ONE day off after that, come back and have one of the part-timers (one who is ALWAYS screaming that she doesn't have enough hours) approach me to tell me she's given one of her shifts to a co-worker because I scheduled her five days in a row, and that's just too much.
Are you laughing yet? I did. I couldn't help it, I laughed. In her face, even. When she told me I was being mean, I told her that I had just worked eight days in a row so she could just shut the hell up. And you know what? SHE DID! hahahahahhahaa!!!!
