I have somethings to bitch and moan about, so, I did that clever little LJ cut thing, cause it's really just a long extended bitch about folks being mean and it's probably interesting just to me!OKAAAY? Yeee-aaah!WHAT?
OOokaaay. So, out of curiosity, I looked at this FanHate thing, this community of , well, assholes, I guess, and it's really kind of scary. And depressing. I know (God knows I know) that too many folks are jerks but would you really want to wave your jerkitude about like that?

I style myself a bitch, but I know I'm not.Not even under the cover of anonymity would I say hurtful things , because *I* would know, and it would hurt me.Yeah, fucking girlscout, right?

Some things cracked me up--people who hated a particular writer, *everything* they did, but what, read everything they wrote? Had to make sure of the hate?
You know, it's not like 'real life'. You don't have to stand politely while some android drones on and on--(some of us have to do that for a paycheck) You can scream at the screen, flip it off, do whatever, and *go away*.It's ok.

Everyone has different tastes, and that's as it should be, but not caring for something is different than just whacking away at folks.I know I love lots of stuff(lots!) that other people hate...so what! It's a big ass world, with plenty for everyone! There are so many writers that I think are brilliant for different reasons.I love the variety:this one's take on the character, that one's reason for a certain scene to have occurred--it's all fascinating for me. This Smallville stuff (that's the puppy they were kicking) has developed into an obsession with me.I just love it. But. I have to say--what's the worry about OOC-ness, come on, that's canon in SV. Look, the show can't write the characters consistently-why the hell worry about it? I believe the fandom has set guidelines and within those lines, have fun. Jeez, the fans write so much better and logically than the show anyway-It's a whole different world than say, WhedonWorld, or Sports Night or a dozen little obscure fandoms that I love (ah, Brimstone, Boondock Saints, so few yet such tasty bits...)where you *need* to be on point all the time.Mind you,I'm not saying that the fandom condones sloppy writing, not at all.I just feel the 'voice'of the show is not as distinct, the style not as obvious, and so lends itself to quite a bit of ..stretching *koffroxykoff*. Makes it fun!
Canon, schmanon.
Tacking a bit here,a point(!) was made about those creepy little Bruce/Lex shippers, who screw up the timeline and 'verse, don't go by comic or Smallville canon, basically just pull stuff out of their...hats,tchah! (And who probably kick little kittys too.)I think we should put them all in a boat and put them out to sea.Yes. And there should be buffets on the boat, every night, and dancing, and nicely shaped cabin boys(or girls, your choice) who are friendly and talented, and I should be the Captain...
Mmm. Well, just a few thoughts,(or rambly rantings.)

Have you noticed that the mod is giving up? She's bored. Hee!

The SV thread was boring. Too few anonymice. And too little mud-slinging. Not even a good 'shipper war. :pouts:

I didn't see that as about 'shippers, as such. I have Bruce in my Honesty series, but I'm a hard-core CLex girl. And since Honesty is just a big stewpot of SV and DCU characters, I probably don't label it crossovery often enough.

Hey! Wanna go over there anonymousily and start a 'shipper war?
