...I've been reading interesting stuff at the Cuff'em kinkfest thingy at svmadelyn's lj, she really needs to get an award for this. It's great also for reading fandoms you might not normally or fandoms you tend to forget about in the bright shininess of your own. I'm a great believer in multi-fandoms! But!

But...(there's always a but...) I realized something today, and it surprised me. I will never ever be an SGA fan. I can see SpN. I really do get that. It took a while, but I can see it. SGA, though...no. I watch it for Lorne, and whatever highly amusing thing McKay will do or say, but the idea of that man in bed is just..no. I can't see any of those people doing anything to each other except in a Sex-Pollen kind of way. Of course, I've read some that are brilliant, and why not? There are terrific writers in SGA. It's just...*shudder*
Of course, I feel shallow, but I figure, it's my fantasy life, and I want it filled with pretty men, Thomas kind of pretty, you know? Pudgy guys with an over inflated sense of themselves I can get at home. And that is my really shallow "oh sure, sure, baby, I love you for your mind" take on that.

I'm off to work now, you know the drill, don't have fun until I get back.

The thing is, when you get used to WB shows everyone else looks ugly. After watching SGA for a while, when I go back to look at SV I am slain all over again by the jaw-dropping beauty, especially of Clark & Lex. From what I've seen of SPN, it's pretty much the same thing: more gorgeousness than should exist outside LuthorCorp's Sekrit Gorgeousness Cloning Lab.

Clark & Lex's absolute, over-the-top beauty for me really builds into the *super* heroic themes of the show and its fanfic (see icon). SGA will always be mundane by comparison. It's easy to imagine SGA AUs where they are ordinary people in more-or-less normal lives; it's impossible to imagine SV characters that way.

A lot of what I find loveable -- and sexy! -- about Rodney is that he *is* imperfect in a normal, the-guy-in-my-bed kind of way. Even Lex's imperfections (the scar) are larger-than-life. Lex is wonderful and beautiful, but I can't actually imagine rolling him over in bed and tickling him, and I can certainly imagine Rodney like that.

In conclusion: more Rodney for me! Besides, I don't think he'd put up with what you'd imagine for him as well as Lex does.*eg*

I think, yes, Thomas and *Lex* have a tendency to be blindingly beautiful, Mikey to me is goofy and sweet looking and sexy in a real person way, I guess the way you feel about McKay. To me, McKay is the guy that I'd love to hang around, and listen to.
And I must agree, no way would he go for that crap I put Lex through, but Rodney seems to be quite all right to me. He knows himself, and he's not damaged in the least, as far as I can see.

He's not really PUDGY, per se. I think he's kinda hot. Of course, he had to grow on me. He's one of those people who look better in action than standing still (like Allison Mack and Tom Felton do to me).

On the other hand, I've always preferred my person choices in men to be slightly soft in all the places it looks like McKay is ^_~

If I listened to him, and ignored his mug, I could see falling for him. Maybe. Also, he's not really as pudge as I always think he is. He just kind of resonates pudge. Am I making it worse?

I haven't watched SGA - cable, right? not get cable. but i wanted to stick my 2 cents in about the pretty. Pretty's like a bonus for me, pretty's to look at, and i don't mind looking! But sexy for me has to have braaiinsss, yummy, yummy braaiinss yeah okay, brains, wit, snark, sarcasm, and sensuality. I tend to go for the ugly-sexy, or "unconventionally" good looking really smart guys. Especially if they've got intense eyes.
Pretty by itself is kind of boring to me. Hence, Snape, Sherlock, Spock. Spike who has the pretty going on as well. then put one of these ugly-sexy smart guys with a pretty guy...and i am one ded katholic grrl!

i feel, I think, the same...though i am not sure... I am not a self-analyzing person that much :D
I mean, I *did* announce in my LJ, that I am totally a Sheppard fan, he is so cute...but seeing the Mcshep, I do not...
I am afraid, clex has destroyed me utterly for ANY other fandom (for fandom and fantasy, not for shows :D)
its been like four years of obsession, and its not getting less ...
I am watching SGA every wedneday for the wonderful witty banters between mcshep, not because I imagine them doing all the wild things like i do with clex
I watch CSI: NY religiously every monday, I watch Cold Case every Friday, but I am no fandom , nor do I even seek out fics with either of those casts.

clex sooo owns my soul...*sighs* we need some LexZod/Clark, prefeably of the non-con kind *hints hints*.....
