I've gotten more feedback for 'Ripley' than for any other story ever. I'm very pleased to receive the feedback, it's very exciting to have so much interest in a story, but it seems weird that the stories that you have the least invested in emotionally are the ones you get the most feedback for. I'm talking about feedback from archives, not here in LJ. I guess, the most feedback I ever got from something in LJ was Firebird, and goodness knows I sweat blood, I was so involved in that story.

I also found the ending I originally wrote for B&H, was was a lot darker and not nearly as happy as the ending I went with. I'm seriously thinking about using that ending instead when I finally manage to get it together to post it at good old SSA, and at Roxy's Boys. When I stop being lazy. *g*

Bored as a bored thing, and I can't write worth a toot, and still plucking away on my SVBB and VirginLex and I'm really kind of thinking I might not be able to finish the other challenge. Oy.
*sigh* after story doldrums. I wish I could find more Walt/Johnny stories/ I love that pairing like crazy..

In general I've found that the shorter a piece is (the less time it took me to write), the more feedback I get for it. Or, at least, the stuff I put a lot of time into doesn't get as much feedback as the shorted pieces. On the SSA I considered *any* email a good sign, since I didn't get that many (except for Thank You, which got five, and was one of the shortest things I've ever written). It's weird the way that works out.

I keep forgetting about virginLex. I started a story, and now I don't know what to do with it. I think part of it is how very distracted I am right now by these idiotic girls here all the time, and thoughts of school obligations and whatnot. But, we still have a week and a half before the deadline, so hopefully it will be done. You'd think getting Bruce and Lex to boink would be easy, but, no.

That's what surprised me too, That was a lot of FB for SSA. THe joint is not lively at all anymore.

Yeah, your life has definitely gone kind of wonky lately. Me, I gave up all idea of a plot and just strung together a lot of sex for VL. Which would be all right if it was good sex....
*shrug*

Yeah, it's almost a surprise when SSA is updated. It's really unfortunate.

Things are definitely weird for me, but they should get into a routine soon. I'm just having motication problems.

I bet your sex is fine, I know I'm looking forward to your story! And really, don't you find plot gets in the way of a lot of things?

I think you may have gotten more response from Ripley on the archives because there are so few mpreg stories out there that when we get a really good one, people are compelled to respond. Mpreg fics are like manna from heaven for fans of it. So I think it was more of you filling a void for a lot of people.

I think in other instances, peple (and I include myself in this) are lazy about feedback because for many reasons like not knowing what to write because saying "That's great" after awhile just doesn't do a fic justice.

Really, you think so? I thought maybe people were churning them out and I just wasn't reading them. I'm sure not complaining, but I do have odd reactions from time to time. (like a x-mas story I wrote and then took a violent hate to--I removed all the posts I hated it so much) I wouldn't pay much attention to me. *G*
Still and all, it was great fun to write.

That is interesting, and it happens to me too. Sometimes I think something is brilliant and people go, "yeah, ok".
Others, I think it's silly and it's "OMG it's great"!!

It goes to show that we have NO IDEA what's going on, darling heart!
*giggles*

If I had *that much money*, I'd pay someone to organize my LJ, lol!

Feedback from the SSA is very bizarre. One time I got 20 emails, and the next I got absolutely nothing (that happened on the last story I posted there -- maybe "blood play" and "knife play" scared people off? Heh).

I think your icon is hypnotizing me.

Feedback is random and weird. I just try to concentrate on sending some for everything I finish and like, and don't worry if what I say is good enough.

You know, I don't even pretend that I have something pithy to say anymore--in the long run, most writers (if they're being honest) just want to know you liked it, that their baby got read. I'm just as happy skippy to get, "OOO!" as I am the long involved critique.Mind you, I love getting them (so much) but it doesn't hurt me not to get it , either.
