roxy...I miss you guys so much! This vacation sucks!
Well, all right, actually it is helping a little. My laptop is having a breakdown too. It's doing horrible things and making it nearly impossible to write or comment, so in a way that's helped me to stay away.
Let me tell you what I've read lately. Some of you might remember the TV show Wise Guys?

astolat has written a series of stories with Vinnie and Sonny that is incredible. What great great story telling! They made me happy!
Also some Brimstone...*sigh* Where? I don't know...I was wandering. *G*
Say, ya'll, thanks a million times for the wonderful FB on the two stories I posted. Boy, the reaction to BOS made me all swimmy-eyed with joy. I'm so happy that so many of you were willing to hop on that particular AU train. And Stand By Me--thank you, thank you!
Both of those stories made me cry (oh so much) when I was hammering away at them, but in the end, I was happy with them, especially Stand. I loved writing that thing. I loved researching it. Just like Firebird, it was exciting to write, and I really got into the characters. That ya'll got into them too made it even better for me.
I saw that Kiki posted links to the art she made for the 'Summer' story. She loved Whit and Sam, and that helped me so much. I was afraid of spending so much time on an OC (the first time I think I did that) and the fact that she liked him enough to do art was just--wow--so incredible!
Re-reading those fics made me remember what it was like to be fairly new in the fandom, to be all dewy fresh and innocent. Those were good days. Not that these aren't because wonderful things happen all the time but yeah. Good times, good times.

It always makes me happy to read a story where Whit is loved, and you did it in those two stories, he had his share of hurt though... but he is happy at the end! :-)

I have also scaled back my message board and fandom activities. I have found that by doing this, I actually enjoy the show more because my opinions aren't colored by everyone's agendas for the characters and the show. I'm glad you are taking some time to breathe and are checking back in with us occasionally.

10/2/06 02:46 pm (UTC)I'll probably be on a lot until Deal is finished, and then I'll play it by ear. I'm spending more tme with the Fam, which makes them happy, and I'm able to step back a bit concerning my stuff and think a little clearer about everything.
