He held Lex and begged him to tell him the same, that he’d never give Clark up, and Lex listened and realized just how deep and meaningful, so all consuming and so everlasting a teenager’s first love is, and he went cold.

All of Lex's good intentions out the window and for naught. He is so convinced it will never work.

But it can! It happens, rarely but it happens! I'm still married to my first love, so I have faith this is going to work out. So there. *hands on hips*

I do love this story.

I know it seems like it almost never happens. Who would guess that funny guy who was the first and only guy I dated would still be around 33 years later. I'm just lucky that way. And that's why I believe in twoo wuv. :-D
