okay, I liked Chloe punching instead of slapping and pulling hair--go girl--but she's as much Lana's bitch as Clark is. That drives me nuts. Is everybody in SV in love with that hamster?

She goes to one man, while still withholding the whole pregnant by another thing, and tries to get him to declare his love... When he doesn't right away she gets teary-eyed; then she goes to the father of her baby, the man that she says at various times that she loves, tells this man that she doesn't love him all the way - I love you BOTH, but is willing to settle and marry him. Really, are you sure...what if Clark changes his mind??!?


Lex got a quibble in his voice, practically beg her to love and marry him. I call(ed) shenanigans so loudly -- SHENANIGANS!!!!! No one should be settling for Lex F**KING LUTHOR, Lex is a first and only choice -- WHORE!

See this is totally what I want, I just didn't want to be the first to put that out there - I was trying to think of the best way to put that I think Lex just needs to wait a few months then just cut the baby out of her and shove Lana down some stairs - because that's kind of harsh.

And you know--this makes me happy, because the more people that loved it, the more fans and the more life in the fandom. There were bits I loved and they all revolved around Chloe. I thought Thomas looked a-fucking-mazing, as always. I was not happy with the Lex/Lana interaction. I thought Mikey played it way too soft except for the nearly crying bit--that was really well done. The look at the end where he hugged her--not so sure about that. I thought Lana was really too plot-devicey this go. Interesting, especially since I've been reminded that Thomas directed this ep.

I enjoyed the Chloe/Lois/GA/Jimmy bits. Tori was fun - and what a great tracking shot of her boots at the beginning! Tom must like filming boots AND nostrils.

Every second Lana was on, I wanted to slap my TV. And I love my TV! Thank goodness we get a break from her next week.

The bit at the beginning, where she establishes her Queen Bitch-ness was pretty good. It was really just the scenes with Lana--no, Lana herself--that made me grit my teeth. It should be so *over* between Clark and her--she can *not* be the reason the Boys come to hate each other.

But wouldn't it be okay if we revert to DC canon and Lex tortures her? Anyway, in a nod to DC canon, I'm betting she loses the baby and that Lex blames Clark for it, and that becomes the final thing to tip Lex into "must destroy alien" territory. Knowing Clark, he'll blame himself, too.

Since the beginning of the series, the writers and producers have utterly failed to give us reasons to care about Lana Lang the character. I haven't seen the episode yet because I'm over here on the west coast and also I don't have cable or really any TV reception at all. Um. Where was I going with this? Oh, yes. When there are indications that Lex truly cares for her, I feel sorry for him, and not in a good way; how could he choose someone so weak? Fortunately, there are plenty of indications he selected her just to get at Clark. I hope you have seen the "Pretty" Smallville vid by supacat. It's perfect.

You mean as it was written? Tom has no control over the script...or do you mean the way it was filmed. And SV has always been a great lover of the close up. Fortunately most of the cast can take a tight shot. Michael's face is getting poofy, so tight shots aren't as lovely on him these days.



As I look around most seemed to enjoy it, I mean all preferences aside, it was just a well done episode. Tom's direction was great, and I actually liked all the Lana/Lex and Clark stuff. I'm not a fan of the Lana, but it would be unrealistic to think feelings that angsty just go away, so I'm glad it was addressed. Right or wrong, Clark wants Lana and loves her, and loving Clark like I do, I just want the boy to have whatever he wants, even if it makes me cringe:) I loved the scene between Clark and Lana in the loft, it was raw and Clark was beyond hurt and not in his usual puppy way, there was bitterness. And the scene between Lex and Lana was great, it showed the height of their dynfunctional relationship, both are just using each other, I don't even know if either know how to love properly. Lana wanting Lex because she needs someone to trust her, and Lex using Lana for the guise of redemption even though he no real desire to actually change his ways. Its all very tragic. Tori was fun, and while I've never really seen her in anything, I thought she did a good job providing a lighter side of the ep, while really pushing the plot forward. Clark's ability to love and forgive (within reason) is a huge part of what makes him great as Superman later in life, and I think its good the show isn't afraid to show that.
