Clex...hee! Sounds funny--Why isn't it Lark?

Here's the next bit,I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.*smarm, smarm*

He was screaming, and his throat hurt from screaming, and it was so good, he was afraid he might pass out. It was beyond good to let go, lose control. Every time Bruce slid in he screamed and every pull out he groaned. He kept trying to push back but Bruce held him in a grip like iron, his hot hands pulled or pushed him the way he wanted. Bruce owned Lex’s body, ruled it and it was making him crazy. Bruce was chewing on his shoulder, and snugging Lex tight against him, just rocking his hips, and squeezing and stroking Lex’s dick, making him cry out again and again. Pain morphed into pleasure and back again as he played him like an instrument. Bruce knew how far to go, how far to take him. It was the safest Lex had felt for so long and he ruthlessly squashed down the flashes of guilt I’m not committed to anything and he’s straight and …Bruce groaned deep in his throat and froze, shuddered, came and Lex pushed into the tight grip around him, the sensation of Bruce’s hand and the groan nearly whispered in his ear pushed him over. He rode out the wave, sighing when his life began to creep back and fill up all the cracks Bruce had made in his armor. He rolled over and watched Bruce’s face slowly change; tighten up into his normal expression. Only his eyes remained the same and Lex was uncomfortable with the love he saw there. He started to speak, to explain why there was no possibility for a relationship, but Bruce laid an elegant finger across Lex’s lips.

“ I love you. I’m not in love with you, ok?”

“I think I can understand that.” Lex rose and moved across the room to retrieve his robe. “Listen, I’m going to sleep in the guestroom, alright?” Bruce nodded, and rolled over. Lex turned off the light as he left the room.

***********************************

Bruce presented Lex with his proposal for protecting Clark’s parents in the morning. Over coffee, they mapped out a plan that invisibly covered the Kent’s. Lex leaned back in his chair, and thought about the Kent’s reaction to their plan, had they known. They were proud people and stubborn, mule-headed in Lex’s opinion. Not that I know anyone else like that. he laughed to himself.

“Humm?” Bruce inquired with a lift of his eyebrow. Lex shook his head in response.

“Nothing, just wandering a bit. How long can we keep them under surveillance? How long can we keep your ‘secret body guards’ in place?”

“A farm always needs help. I can readily have someone in place at any time. I think it’s possible that the Kent’s are about to experience an unprecedented period of financial solvency…Organic foods are all the rage in Gotham at the moment-or soon will be. They’ll need help on the farm”

Lex snorted, knowing full well how much his friend enjoyed this convoluted planning. By the time he was ready to go back to Smallville, he had no doubt that there would be layers of protection in place that even he wouldn’t be able to unravel, and that made him feel very secure. No matter what happened to him, no matter if his feelings should…change in any way, Clark’s parents were safe. From anyone. Bruce assured him that these wards were there until the Kent’s …well, as long as protection was needed. He wished he could have discussed all this in depth with Clark, but he would have wanted too much. He would have wanted everyone under Bruce’s umbrella, and that was an unworkable scenario. Bruce had shaken his head when Lex broached the subject.

“I can protect his parents but short of trapping all his acquaintances in Smallville, that’s the extant of my capabilities. Or, I stop everything else I’m doing and devote myself to Clark, and that’s not *my*job.” Bruce gaze at Lex was not without sympathy, but Lex didn’t even bother to argue. When Bruce decided on a course of action, best for mere mortals to step out of the way.

“I have to ask this…is there a valid reason to do this? Is this alien really going to care one-way or the other? I mean, he knows he’s not their biological offspring…”

“Bruce. The ‘alien’ is Clark, raised human, and *is* human as far as his emotions go. So, if you please, approach it from that viewpoint.” he said stiffly. He rose intending to leave the room, but Bruce stopped him.

“ Don’t be angry, I’m just trying to get a better understanding. I’m not trying to…annoy you.” He patted Lex on the shoulder.” Come on, let’s do something fun, we’ve been working long enough.”

********

In the study, in a wing back chair by the fire, a phone ran and rang. It rang on and off for hours.

*********

“Clark, you’re driving me crazy! Stay put or go outside!”
Martha scolded her son. He really was on her last nerve. If she tripped over his feet one more time…

“Mom! I’m bored! There’s nothing to do.” He caught his mother’s look and hastily added, “Nothing fun, I mean.” He grinned at her and moved out of her reach. “Can I try to call Lex again?”

“Didn’t you already call a couple of times? Clark, that all adds up!”

“But Mom! I didn’t reach him at all, none of those times. Can’t I please try again?” He gave her a sly little grin. "It’ll keep me out of your way for a while.”

Martha frowned in mock annoyance. “Go, Clark. And don’t forget to keep track of the time, please.”

Clark swung out of the kitchen and grabbed the phone. He wondered what Lex was up to, what could be keeping him from answering his cellphone. He refused to think about the fact that he’d called last night after he got back from the movies, and this morning before breakfast, and again at lunch, and about fifty times after that. Because he was *not* hurt he hadn’t gotten any calls since Lex left. Just like he was sure their talk didn’t have anything to do with this sudden business trip, sure of it. 'Cause Lex wouldn’t do that to him. They understood each other. He trusted him, or he never would have told him. Anyway, Guys didn’t worry about crap like not checking in. They didn’t *have* to check in with each other, even though Lex really kinda needed someone to look out for him, so he didn’t make any crazy mistakes, like, say,get engaged.Or married. At that thought, Clark frowned. It deepened as the phone rang until Lex’s voice mail picked up.

“ Where the hell is he!”
