You know, Yer Mother loves her Lil' Wayne, Hov (even though he disappointed her last time and she's not picking up any different vibe this time) Dipset and so on...but Alicia Keys right now with No One is killing me. I love that song like a fat kid loves cake and caramel sauce dribbled all over Thomas's great big...what? who says I'm talking about myself?

that song makes me happy as shit, and have you seen her? oh my god, that is one hot looking woman. Plus, she *looks* like a woman, curves and stuff. I don't believe she's handy one little bit. Haters. Haters, that's all.

I'm working on my Jazz Age Clex. Gotta come up with a title for that thing...and a direction. So far, and this is the important thing, I've come up with the music to play whilst (that's right, i used whilst, and i'll use it again)typing. Once you've got the music down, the rest is....well, still like passing a kidney stone but at least there's a soundtrack to your suffering. Writing really is like giving birth. You suffer and sweat and scream and after, all you remember is the fun parts, except in giving birth of course there are no fun parts until they let you the fuck up so you can have a fucking cigarette and a god damn cup of coffee with caffeine in it, damn it...oh crap, was I talking about myself again?

I love the weekends. *goofygrin*

What's the music? I may be able to come up with a title for you.

And caramel and cake and the weekend. I'm there with you, all the way. What? I said I was sending Gary out riding so Liam could stop by. Tom's welcome, too! *caramel saucy grin*

You saucy wench, you!

The music--it kind of bounces all over place from Glen Miller to rap--I've got kd lange in there singing a Roy Orbison song--I guess it's a pretty eclectic mix. *G*

As for music of the period, I've got Satin Doll and Three o'clock Jump, Take The A-train, At Last, Gloomy Sunday...lots of angsty sounding stuff. Even though I swear there's a happy ending. A completely happyending this time, no maybes or open end stuff or just kind of...stopping. *G*,

was going to do a WWII idea with the boys almost straight out of swing kids.

I cry for lost fics!! I *love* them in that time period. All American was one of my fav fics--did [livejournal.com profile] toomuchplor ever tie that up? Anyway, yeah, it's earlier than WWII but I'm having problems tying down the time period--too much good stuff.

I'm listening to non period stuff too, just stuff that gets me in the mind frame for these boys.

Kind of Blue, because any self-respecting jazz lover reading will get the reference.

Great line (and icon!) but it's a little--or a lot--out of the time frame I want to use. I'm thinking between the early 30s.

But geez, I can see Lex looking so very hot in those skinny 50s suits and ties...yes, yes, I write from a very shallow place...*hangs head*
