HAH! I *KNEW* Bobby was the trickster, I knew it!! But I bet everyone was freaked by that! And yes, I caught the montage and it was pretty cool--he was an obsessively neat psycho. I know he didn't learn anything because that is one hard-headed boy, but now we know just what he'll do without Dean. I never did get why Dean thought that Sam would just go back to his Stanford sized life if anything happened to him. *shakes head* freaks, the both of them. And I love them to bits! Thanks you, beloved, you saved me!
I suspected Bobby was the trickster, too, when he first called, but then when he offered to die rather than have Sam kill a "civilian," and said something about Sam and Dean being the closest thing he had to family, and that he was old and reaching his time and Sam and Dean would be able to save a lot more people, and he knelt down and told Sam just to do it quick (God, my poor heart couldn't handle it!) I thought it must really be him.
And after Sam stabbed him, there really was this long period of time where he started going "Bobby? Bobby?" and there was this horrifying possibility it wasn't the trickster. Damn, this show is just SO GOOD.
But anyway--if anything, all this ep did was totally confirm all the fanon that Sam is going to completely lose his shit when Dean dies, and probably become the antiChrist. (The trickster didn't actually say that, by the way--he just said something about the two of them constantly sacrificing their lives for each other wasn't going to lead to a good end. But we all know: rain of blood and frogs.) And yeah, Dean is COMPLETELY dumb not to realize that. *Knocks both of their heads together*
It's so wonderful that this show doesn't operate in it's own little home-made vacuum--it remembers what happens from ep to ep. And even if it wasn't really Bobby, my Bobby love continues to grow! Thanks again, lovey!
Well, time for me to go to bed--or go back to torturing Lex! *HUGS*
