Time for [livejournal.com profile] wednesday100!

Maybe we've grown out of it, maybe the new folks aren't into the idea of drabbles, but it's fun! Really! Imagine taking that great story idea you had, and mooshing it down into 100 words. Now that, my friend is discipline. I mean, I can't keep anything to a reasonable length. Hell, my grocery lists are two pages long, what with crossouts and add-ins and notes to myself.[livejournal.com profile] mayphoenix started off with Awakenings as a theme, so I'm going to follow through--[livejournal.com profile] justforspite wrote a terrific drabble too. Check it out and tell them what you think!

I saw this and thought "fun!" But then I read the user info page and had too many questions. Too much effort for 100 words.

Okay, that's all--not to worry. Just join and post if you want to.
The only thing you have to remember is, if you have more than one drabble, put it under a cut. I think that's all we need to know about writing a drabble is, it's 100 words. And since SV is on Thursdays now, I don't think you have to worry about spoiling anyone. This comm is pretty much taking the deep sleep, so I'd think anything we do to make it twitch should be okay. I hope.

I'm still all sorts of confused about posting time and when prompts expire.

And just for info not related to the comm, is drabble usually only 100 in general? I know it's a very short fic, but I didn't think there was a qualifying word limit.

well here's the thing. Lexalot runs the comm, but interest waned so badly that the last prompt given was in October, I think? Posting time was Tuesday midnight, and the challenge officially closed Friday, I think. We're just playing here, throwing up some drabbles and seeing if we can't get folks interested.

I think everyone across the board has come to agree that 100 words makes a drabble. I believe that outside of fanfic it varies but most comms accept that as the length.
