Gardening was canceled halfway through when we realized bees were swarming in our back yard. Yup. Next week, locusts.

always something interesting at the Rose manse. So instead, I decided to rearrange my nieces room which I have stolen to use as an office and put together a bookcase I bought a while ago. Did you know that you can drink lots and lots of water and still feel like you're dying of heat. I mean...water! *shudder*

I feel asleep for a long time, and Mr. Roxy woke me, to tell me that BG's air-conditioner had died, and he was off to buy a new one. I burst into tears, because I felt no way did I deserve such a wonderful man, who was going to brave the heat so his baby wouldn't be all sweaty, and I was just laying on the couch sleeping...crycrycry. Yeah. I've been a little nuts all month...so, from whacking him, to loving him like a loon. (and i stress loon)

So--on to catch up on comments and thanks a million for the lovely comments on EOtS! Wow, you guys make me so happy! Hey, speaking of comments, are there a lot of lurkers out there, or are folks not reading? There have been some really excellent fics updated lately and I've noticed commenting is kind of slow...is it the summer, you think? I've been lurkery myself (that loony thing)but I've just noticed a lack of comments on things I thought would definitely have tons of response.

Hmmm. I dunno about the comments thing. The same peeps are still hitting mine regularly (which thrills me insanely!), and I don't really pay attention to other journal's comment-sections, other than to post mine.

yeah, it just seems looking at some of my fav fics that there's a drop off in comments. I guess I just want lots of encouragement for my favorite writers. *hugs*

Yep I know this feeling well, its usually what leads to me consuming massive amounts of ice polls.

Gardening was canceled halfway through when we realized bees were swarming in our back yard.

That's so weird. A few weeks ago, a bunch of bees swarmed in front of my parents house. They didn't stay; were just traveling with the queen, I guess searching for a new place to live. The same day, a bunch swarmed at Disneyland, shutting down a ride (Autopia). And, recently, a bunch swarmed somewhere else... can't remember where. But somewhere.

For disappearing, they sure are popping up everywhere.

I know! I was very pleased to see them--[from a safe distance). We called a bee guy, keeper, whatever you call them, and he collected the swarm. Very interesting!

The words swarm and bees used in the same sentence makes me want Xanex.

And an epipen.

It made me need new ears after BG expressed her displeasure at the TOP OF HER LUNGS.

So those plans we were making are a no. ;)

I dunno if it's the time of year or what, but I've noticed fic writing and commenting has slowed down. I was shocked by the lack of fic on the SPN newsletter since I usually have to scroll a couple of times just to get to the end of that.

I admit that I haven't been reading much. My foul mood should not be shared with creative people that are putting their art out there for comments. I might make people cry. LOL

*G* but damn good to know you got me if I need you.

I hope it's just the time of year. Hey, and thanks for not beating folks up--lol!

I'm contemplating a counter. Not that I'm posting that much fic lately but there does seem to be a bit of a comment drought. ::thoughtful look:: Either that or my writing took a downwards swing! ::eyes muses::

This is what I'm talking about. It's almost as if fandom has taken a massive swing elsewhere. Where, I have no idea....

Either that or my writing took a downwards swing!
*eyeballs you, contemplates gentle whack of encouragement*

If I truly was just writing for the comments, I'd be throwing my hands up and saying f**k it right now. The last five or six stories I've written have sort of faded into obscurity by the time the final chapter rolls around (or the short ones fizzle) with the exception of a faithful few (hugs you hard for that). I guess I'm losing whatever touch I may have once had. *sigh*

Oh, please believe me when I tell you it's not you--you're writing better than ever, in my opinion. I'm worried that it's SV, are we fading away? Some very exciting writers are just not getting the input they should. Maybe I'm just fretting over nothing. There have been slowdowns before. What's it like over there in the SGA fandom? All I know about it are the few people on my flist who x-over SGA and SV.

I realize I'm a newbie/no-name in SGA, so the lack of commenting there hurts less. I can see the hits on their big archive Wraithbait and in 2 days I had over 600 hits on one story and 2 reviews (comments). I have no idea how to take that. I keep getting people freinding me, but the comments are still dropping off. Like I said, I'm not going to stop writing, it's just aggravating sometimes.

I can't comment on the comment thing, though I've found myself lately skipping posts for one reason or another that I might at one time have wanted to read.

I read the first chapter of your new Ripley story because I didn't realize it wasn't finished, so I'm looking forward for that to get completed because that whole universe is so great.

What I really wanted to say is that I love reading about you and Mr. Roxy. Your stories and the way you present them are always really amusing. :)

Yeah, comment wise, it's remained pretty much the same for me. I always get a lot of comments in the beginning and then it tapers off, but that's mostly because I'm very long winded and you've got to wait forever for the payoff. I've just noticed it with other folks who should be getting the comments--folks who have a better track record at finishing their wips than I do, lol!

I love reading about you and Mr. Roxy

Why, thank you! Heh--the poor man. It's very therapeutic to write about too!

My sympathies on the bees. We get them every spring, which would be fine if they only wanted to help pollinate our trees, but they keep trying to swarm INTO OUR HOUSE. *flails*

Mr. Roxy sounds very sweet (and clearly has great taste, being married to you).

I was thinking odd thoughts tonight, and I have to ask -- have you ever wondered what Lex's life would have been like if he'd been found (maybe after the first meteor shower) and taken in and raised as a Winchester? Picture it: Lex learning how to hunt...Lex and Dean protecting little Sammy while John's off hunting...Lex and Dean messing around while John's away and Sammy's asleep...Lex and Dean and Sam showing up in Smallville because there've been these strange things happening there, and it just might be demonic....

oh gosh! Thank god our bees were fairly well behaved!

Lol! .Well, he's very sweet, yes. *G*

As for your SpN idea--I swear, you've been romping through my mind, haven't you? I've had a couple of versions of this wandering in my head for a while. I'd *adore* doing a story like that. I want to do it. I've been working on and off on a BtVS/SpN x-over for a while, but I like this even better. As soon as I finish EoTS, you and I have some major talking to do. *G*

Do you remember what year it was when Mary Winchester was killed in the SPN universe? Or how old Dean was then? I know Sam was exactly six months old at the time, and I know Lex was nine in 1989 when the first meteor shower struck, but I'm not sure what Dean and Sam's ages are relative to Lex's.

I think right now their ages are
Lex:28
Dean:29
Sam:25
Clark:22

Mary dies in 1983, when Dean was four.

So, Dean's older than Lex by a year. Sam is three years younger. *beams*
