I'm back home, I voted! Hey America, guess what? For the first time ever, the candidate I voted for looks like me! It was a terrific feeling, even if I had to get up at ass o'clock to do so. I made the mistake of commenting once or twice on the sky getting lighter and Mr. R said,"Yes, we call that sunrise..." Yeah, laugh it up, funny boy. So, the Fam voted, and no matter what the outcome, we were part of history today.

Well, I feel a bit stupid to say "Congrats for voting" since it's what a person that lives in a democratic country should do, but I'm proud of you. :D
And, I hope this day will be remembered as the day America elected its first black president, and not its oldest president.

*makes more coffee - today will be a long day*

wow, how early did the polls open for you? i thought it was 7:00. wish i'd done that -- it worries me that lines will be so long that i can't stand long enough to vote. (bad knees.)

what a historic day! it's pretty thrilling.

We opened at 6:00 and believe me, that was pretty damn early for me! We waited about 20 minutes in line. The time went by fast as my beloveds used it to mock my early morning confusion. :)

I voted, too! Just got back, about 30 mins ago. I am just ramped up like crazy with excitement right now.

To be a part of this historical day is amazing. I want so badly for Barack to win. Seriously -- he is THE ONE who is going to change EVERYTHING.

YEAH, BABY! :D

I went to bed at 10:30 last night so that I could be at the polls at 6:00 this morning. And dude, I never do that. Casting my vote felt like such an awesome thing, and I actually almost cried!

If he wins, the only thing that saddens me is my mother never got to see the first black president being elected. But I REALLY hope he wins, or I'm moving to Canada to stalk Tom Welling

I am unhappy with the voting here in Mississippi, but I finally was able to actually vote. Hopefully, it will count for something.

And I know that I'm not black, but voting for Obama was a terrific for me too: I am not nor ever will be an old white man.

I'm glad it was great for you too--he's for every one of us, after all. To folks like me, whose childhood began in a legally segregated nation, it's just an incredible, mind-boggling thing. Lots of us never believed we'd see a day like this, but really, it's a huge day and a giant step forward for *all* of us.

*HUG* Love you!

I know! I'm young, but even I know that women weren't allowed to vote until this century. It's bizarre to see a woman in such a position and feel that you should vote for her because she's a woman, and have to remind yourself that she's a vapid, horrible human being that cares nothing about other women.

Hopefully, Obama gets 8 years in, and then a qualified and appropriate woman will run.
