Art Gifts!

mkitty3 liked the story well enough to make me some lovely art for it—and this incredible cover for
Firebird and The Grey Wolf, a story about terrible people doing terrible things and not feeling sorry for them at all. :)

12/16/08 04:33 am (UTC)Aha! This was one story I hadn't read because it's marked "angst" at the SSA and I'm a big wuss. Your angst-stories are so powerfully written they can upset me for days (see "Dog.")
But this beautiful cover gave me the nudge and I'm glad I did read it - loved that it ended with a touch of redemption, with the two very damaged men finding love and perhaps salvation with each other. I especially liked this line:
Kirill turned into the tiny gesture of comfort with over whelming gratitude. He needed just a little kindness now--just one person to show him the compassion he knew he had no right to.
*sob* Ooh, that pokes me right in the heart!
(While I was at the SSA, I also re-read "Lex and Clark do Europe" which is my personal Happy Place.)
