Why would you post a link to a friends-locked LJ? But more importantly, why is it annoying me?

It's really aggravating. I don't know if they want extra friends or what. I know there's concern about people finding your fic, or the latest LJ PURGE OF DOOM, but sometimes it sounds like "Friend me and read my fic/look at my arts!" I personally keep those posts open so they can read if they want without having to make some sort of commitment.

It's odd, right? I rate stuff like that right up there with "this is how i demand you credit me" in icon posts. It automatically makes me click away.
