Poor Smallville. Everyone seems kind of horrified it's on for another season. I think there's another season in it. I mean, since Michael's gone, it's not nearly as painful to watch(well, except for that one thing). They're not slicing and dicing up Lex's character anymore, so fiddle-de-de! I just get to watch the insanely beautiful Thomas say stuff on my screen weekly, and that's all I care about anymore. It's the mental equivalent of tossing myself off a cliff, yelling "free--free!" What I do hope is that they finally concentrate on Clark, and drop these pointless excursions into What-Not-ville.

And by the way, Clark, trading one ultra-possessive and border-line abusive boyfriend for another is not the way to go. In the long run, Lois is the way to go. You can both pretend she's the boss, when both of you know behind closed doors, you're the man---every way it counts. *wink*

Supernatural--I knew you'd be renewed, so I was happy but not surprised. Me, I'm hoping this doesn't mean the Brother Against Brother storyline gets dragged out, oy. I really didn't know when I hopped on the train that I'd just have to go through another version of The Rift. No wonder folks hied themselves off to fandoms they'd not have that to worry about. I must be somewhat masochistic. Or stupidly hopeful.

I get the impression the brother vs brother thing will wrap up this season, and then something different for next season. I remember the series Angel would have been of a post-apocalyptic world if they had got a season 6, and I actually think something like that would be really cool for season 5 of SPN... There's not many places to go to follow up Sam going darker/the big Dean Vs Sam clash otherwise as that feels like endgame, but I do want the brothers bonded and working together for the final season, and I think that would work out nicely at giving us a big follow-up :D

I'm pleased for another season of SV too as it does feel like the writers were already banking on it, and not even close to wrapping things up properly with season 8, so I wouldn't have wanted the show to go out that way. I have my fingers crossed that season 9 will give us the chance to get Michael back for the finale. I do have my concerns too, especially with the showrunners changing again as the current people are leaving for Melrose Place, but we'll just have to wait and see I suppose!

A post-apocalyptic world for SpN?? Would be the coolest thing ever--as long as the brothers are back to being friends! Or, you know, whatever...*grin*

This is exactly how I feel about it. Whether or not it was true, I could feel them put the "stall!" gear in use right around the middle ... if they hadn't gotten a S9, I think they would have had to rush the ending, which would have been a disappointment.
