Thank you, NTM Reading Club!
2/2/10 09:05 pmThank you for the comments on Non Timebo Mala, my beloved reading club! You make me wiggle and squee! Okay, not a pretty image but hey, happy here! I'm going to respond pretty darn soon but I'm kind of caught up with writing more on the Fic Of Horrible People And Gross Sex--or that 50s fic, Gone World. *BEAMS* Since I've decided I don't care if it makes sense to anyone but me, I'm having a lot more fun with it! I keep trying to post it and going 'ooo, wait, let's add this, let's take this out, let's make this more uncomfortable if possible!' It's icky and fun at the same time, hah! So expect more of that!
RL is kind of equal parts suck and really good. BG lost her job right before Christmas and is driving herself crazy trying to find another. She's having a hard time being unemployed. She's worked since she was 15. (mom and dad are cheap, what can i say?). I keep buying her coffee and snacks like it's going to make a difference. I'm aching for her, though. If you have a second, send her positive wishes. She needs lots of hugs.
My dad continues to improve physically--not able to walk on his own but sitting up most of the day, eating and *enjoying* food for the most part. Except...he's getting a leeeetle odd, as in the nursing staff are conspiring against him. Especially the unknown owner of the home, a mysterious figure with far reaching powers and a desire to bring my pop down. Okay, I sound like a horrible daughter, laughing at my dad but seriously...it's a little funny. It's just the way he tells it, like it's a movie or something. Plus sometimes he kind of grins. And it's this totally deadpan delivery. I am keeping track of what he complains about and haven't found anything out of the ordinary. For some odd reason the one nurse he hates the most is the one I like the best. He's very informative and very patient and seems to like my dad. It confuses him that my dad doesn't trust him. Dad. He's unique. Always has been.

2/3/10 02:52 am (UTC)it's great that your dad's able to enjoy his food and you're able to find amusement in his odd stories. that very patient nurse sounds terrific, even if your dad mistrusts him!

2/3/10 03:15 am (UTC)Lol, yeah, the nurse is cool. I can only guess that Dad doesn't like him 'cause he's a *he*.

2/3/10 04:00 am (UTC)Your dad sounds kind of like how my mom used to be - she was always a handful for healthcare folks! Mean, but adorable! *g*

I feel bad because I haven't been commenting much to you lately, but it's because I don't read SPN fic. Though it does make me happy to see you posting anything. :) *hugs* ♥
