oy, my friends

As some of you may know,(and god knows i'm making it hard for you not to) I finished my big story that I've been working on since I think November last year. I could look it up to be sure but I'm too lazy.
I haven't looked at it since, because I know it's got to be picked over for mistakes and whatnot before I post it in my own little archive-sort-of(DW). I'm not eager to do so. Let's just say if that fic was a relative and showed up unannounced at my door, it'd be spending the holidays in several different trash bags in the trunk of a car at the airport in Newark.
I've also posted another fic that took me a bazillion years to finish and posted that hither and yon, but that one I didn't post as a WIP. I have one more part of another SpN story that I have been posting as a WIP. This one, Impossible Things, is fun to write. Sometimes I laugh out loud at bits I write. I think parts of it are pretty darn funny and it can be as goofy as I want because this one is mostly just me fucking around, like Alien Boy or How I Spent My Summer Vacation. I had the *best* time with A Young Kryptonian's Travels--that thing was a hoot to write! I loved fucking with Clark! I should write more humor, it's very satisfying for me. But once again I've wandered far afield of my point, which is to say that all this is productivity is kind of surprising me but it's cool. I was a little afraid that my disappointment in the lack of interest in my fics would make me slow down but oddly it's having the opposite effect--weird, right? Hey, I'm not complaining. (not toooo much) I feel more inspired than I have in a while. I guess it's kind of getting good to me, as we used to say back in the day. ;)
I usually cut stuff this long so as not to clog up folks pages, but heck, today I feel like flaunting my floral-patterned-granny pantie-covered ass in public, so there. And as a sign of the wisdom and maturity I've gained through the years, I'm not going to close with na-nana-boo-boo.

10/8/10 05:55 am (UTC)I am so freakin' happy that your inspiration is in overdrive these days. I was worried there for a bit. I'll admit it. This is the best ramble yet, and I do love me some roxy-rambles! YAY for you!!!
*SNUGGLE* Heh. That joke's never getting old, you creepy, detergent-bear-loving weirdo, you! XD

10/8/10 06:18 pm (UTC)I swear, it always seems to be the case. Plus, it's very humbling to go from a fandom in which I was almost guaranteed to get at least a dozen comments on a story to nil. Well, humbling in that way that makes you slam your head on the desk and scream why, why oh lord why...*koff* erm-hem. Or something like that. :)

10/8/10 04:09 pm (UTC)Anyway I wanted to ask you a question as you are the best writer I know. I'm doing a WIP on MUNCLE, well someone said the only problem with my WIP parts are that they are short. So my question is, have you got any tips for me?

10/8/10 04:31 pm (UTC)First of all, flattery will get you everywhere--;)
Secondly, people will say all sorts of things, trying to be helpful. You have to ask yourself if their advice is helpful to you. Something like the length of your updates is kind of subjective. If you feel like a particular bit is as long as it needs to be and it says what you want it to, than it's the right length. I've noticed lately that people update with much longer bits than they used to--I tend to hover around 3000 words now when I used to update with about 1500. What it comes down to is, you're the writer, you're in charge. :)
*HUG* Man from Uncle, hunh? Man, that show opened the door to puberty for me, hah!

10/8/10 04:36 pm (UTC)I like your advice :)
So who did you prefer, my cousin (well 3rd cousin) David or Robert?
