Went to try and apply for Medicaid for my dad, again--there was some new shit I didn't know I was supposed to have--again. Told the woman that I needed a minute or two to scream my brains out. She seemed understanding. Tell me why every time I have everything squared away the way I think I'm supposed to, something new drops out? I was seriously about to slap a bitch out of sheer frustration. Thank god, I was wearing my matron costume and that helped me to hold onto sanity. And to be fair, the woman was just doing her job. Oh well. Trying again.

Shit. This be all killing my barely functioning porn'o'meter. Swear to god, if I don't get someone to come soon....

Applying for services, (medicaid, medicare, disability, etc.) is a GIANT Pain in the ass and it doesn't matter how much documentation you have, they always need something else.

I'm so sorry that you're experiencing that. (i'm in the middle of it too and yeah, slapping a bitch sounds really relaxing right now)

It's all so bizarre. You can qualify for disability. that means the government acknowledges that you are indeed too sick to work, but then NOT qualify for medicare or medicaid, so yeah, you're really sick, but no, you can't have any insurance.

serioulsly, i've been fighting this since june, and i'm exhausted and it's STILL not resolved.

at one point food stamps were reduced because they needed MORE proof of medical expenses. I had to personally go to the pharmacy and purchase a bunch of supplies out of pocket and show the reciept, in order to get the food stamps reinstated, because you know, eating is really optional in this day and age.

GRRR.

sorry, i'm doing my own bitching now but what i'm saying is that i completely feel your pain and know how close you can get only to then find yourself scrambling for one more document.

ARRRG, and it kills my porn muse every time. When i'm dealing with red tape, all i can write is insane schmoop or serious H/C but no fun happy porn.

It's all craziness and makes no sense. Way back when, when my sis needed to be on welfare, she found out it was almost harder to get off of it than to get on. They were prepared to help her get training to clean offices that lasted a month or two, but she had to wrestle them to the ground in order to finally get the training for a job that not only let her get off welfare but get benefits and actually *have* some money left over after paying bills. Man, I really hope your stuff gets squared away, it sucks hard you have to go through this perpetual limbo.

hey, i'm rooting for me to be writing too.

and yeah, if i get a P/T job, it will COST me money because i'll lose some benifits dute to my additional income but i want to be working again, and hopefully will be within the next six months.

i hope your stuff works out too and i'm rooting for EVEYRONE'S muse to show back up. they seem to be at their own con or something. the fandom needs fic, and i'm always happier when i'm in the middle of writing a sotry.
