I need recs for J2 or SpN fic that I can stuff into my kindle that's either extremely plotty or so hot that the flaming blushes it brings to my cheeks will make fire alarms go off.

I've got to get on a plane Friday and I need something to distract me from the flying thing which is making me sweat right now. My only sure fire distraction just won't work--those airplane potties are too tiny, and my joints give me the gyp something fierce nowadays. Plus Mr. R is such a party pooper, tchah!

I don't read J2 and it's probably impossible that there is anything in the fandom that I've read and you haven't. I'm a total noob. But just in case, here are some of my favorites. Do you read Dean/Cas or Sam/Cas? I just went with Sam/Dean since I know you're all about that pairing. Also, [livejournal.com profile] lazy_daze has an amazing list of recs on her lj.

Last Outpost of All That Is by [livejournal.com profile] eighth_horizon

Not a 'verse fics by [livejournal.com profile] bewaretheides15

Outsiders by [livejournal.com profile] oschun

Blue Skies From Rain by [livejournal.com profile] lovesrain44

I also find that everything by [livejournal.com profile] candle_beck and [livejournal.com profile] oxoniensis are incredibly re-readable and have all of their stuff on my Kindle.

And here is a rec list that I haven't read everything on yet, but plan to.

Ooooh, thank you for that--it looks there might be some on the rec list I haven't read. I see you and I have read the same stories! I *LOVE* Last Outpost, and have been meaning to reread if for some time--thanks for reminding me, now would be the perfect time! And girl--you *know* I love some Sam/Cas! ;)

I don't know why I seldom jump in the Dean/Cas. I can definitely see it, though.

thread jumping - if you like [personal profile] eighth_horizon also look at the Turn of the Wheel - very long S/D wing fic and one of my top ten SPN picks.

Haha! I knew you would have read all of those. I'm finally getting to see all of the stuff that everyone else has already had a chance to rave and gush over. I exhausted all of the good Dean/Cas stuff in only a couple of months, otherwise I might never have delved into the wonders of Wincest. I wish I had some epic Sassy fics to rec to you, but that pairing doesn't get the attention it deserves. In case you haven't already seen it, you should read We are accidents waiting to happen. It's one of my favorite Sassy fics.

I hear all of these rumors that Sam/Dean girls loathe Dean/Cas shipping. It's like, some big fan battle or something. As a multi-shipper, it breaks my heart. My sister and I have this theory that Sassy could bridge the gap between the Sam/Dean and Dean/Cas girls, if it's applied appropriately. I have a Dean/Sam/Cas story that I'm working on, hoping to test that theory. I just need my muse to cooperate.

Anywho, if you're willing to test your Dean/Cas tolerance, you should read The Fallout 'verse by [livejournal.com profile] fossarian. It's probably my favorite group of fics in the fandom. The author has also written some pretty amazing Sassy fics. No Sam/Dean unfortunately, but if anyone can talk Foss into writing an incestuous gay love affair, I think it's me. :)

Hope you have fun on your trip and find multitudes of fic to keep you entertained on the way.
