This is what has happened over the last few weeks.
we drove to Georgia for Mitch's funeral. It was awful, just as I expected it was going to be. I think we were all too much in survival mode to have anything make a dent in that. After we came back home we went right to work and then the weekend past was the cabin thing. Mr. R had made the arrangements a long time before everything and we decided to just take the trip. Best idea ever. It was so relaxing, and it was a godsend to spend some time alone together and reconnect. It helped me in a lot of ways too--I'd been thinking some crazy thoughts and the weekend made me realize that they *were* crazy thoughts. Anyhoo--that was what happened.

All this traveling back and forth left me plenty time to read. Thank you all for your recs--I took quite a few and read some enjoyable stories that I'd like to tell you about so, maybe, possibly, I'll have some recs of my own for you--or little reviews of what I read and why I liked it. Expect shallow thoughts and porn ratings. :)

that icon always cracks me up. *g*

max adler, the actor who plays karofsky, is very, very good at conveying all kinds of complicated emotions. that kiss he gave kurt in the locker room had the glee fans talking about what a powerhouse pairing they were, i noticed even well before i had watched a single episode (having seen their posts on my f-page). the storyline hits me hard, because it's full of potential for drama -- repression, desire masked as hostility, the possibility of redemption if not romance, etc. there's a lot of good fiction that takes these ideas and makes them happen, with due angst and emotional shadings, just to my taste. plus, max adler, did i mention, is hot? :D

my other favorite pairing is kurt/finn, because i love finn to bits (and loathe rachel). right now, i'm reading a wip set post-h.s. pairing finn with will that's highly persuasive, too. whee!
