I do have to say this thing though, and that probably makes me a party-pooper, but the whole Sam Colt business drives me right out of my mind. I have to consciously stop and tell myself, "SpN takes place in an alternate universe, where Sam Colt is for some odd reason an old alcoholic dude who apparently never heard of Patterson, New Jersey. Hoosah, I can deal, for the sake of Dean in a cowboy hat, I can deal. Also, the brothers are having sex, and ganked Ruby together."

Nice call on the syphilitic whores and the crapasstic booze, though.

Mind you, if this ep were a person, I would throw them on the ground and roll all over them making pathetic, border-line creepy noises. Ach, who am I kidding? They'd be *way* creepy noises!

I loved it, and even though I don't care that much about the Western genre one way or the other, I still got a kick out of their cowboy duds (even though, as an authentic modern-day Westerner, I can say with a surety that they were pretty cheesy even for the present day). I was looking forward to it more than anything because the Js, particularly Jensen, seemed so thrilled with doing the episode in the first place. I've been watching con videos where he still lights up when he talks about making this one--and how fun is it to watch a 32-year-old man look like he's a six-year-old in Disneyland? I enjoyed it for its own sake, though, all the references and fun stuff, like the horseshit and the "Yippee cay yay, mf" and whatnot.

Oh man--so many excellent references--and Jensen's *joy* at playing a cowboy just poured right off the screen. I love how he has no problem being teased, though I felt kinda bad that he had to ditch his blanky. I mean serape. ;)
