I started to write a Christmas fic based in the Mariposa world and a few paragraphs in I said to myself,"Self, why?"
So instead, I'm posting the drawing I did for When I Was Lost when [livejournal.com profile] ctbn60 had to drop out, and before [livejournal.com profile] silvervalley picked me up.

It's not bad. I stopped working on it when [livejournal.com profile] silvervalley contacted me but I figured I'd share what I had since it's been a bazillion years that I've done any art and it seemed wrong to kind of waste it...anyhoo, like to see it? Here it is--such as it is!

I wish the scanner was better. :(
There's a lot I would have changed on this, but I was pleased that for not doing any kind of work at all for--a long time, it wasn't too weak. I had trouble with the jaw and nose, as always, and the proportions are off but not to jarringly, I think. I've always had difficulty with proportions for some reason. In the rough stage it's not bad but heading towards finish, I wander off course a lot. Still, I like this. I'm glad my ability isn't totally dead!

Nice! The eyes make the sketch. Note to self, "Why not?" It would look very shiny, I loved the Mariposa world. Merry Christmas! I didn't get around to sending cards this year. RL just has me erasing this year from total recall, and am looking forward to a much better year in 2012.

You and I are in the same boat, card-wise. There was just so much going on, the only cards I got out were the ones I did at the beginning of the month and didn't get around to mailing until a few days ago.
