A little help--
1/26/12 03:22 pmMy brilliant friends--what would teen Caucasian boys have been listening to in the late 90s-early 2000s? They probably weren't listening to the same stuff I was--by the way, Big Pun the greatest rapper ever was, no argument. I ask about music because I need it for my story, where I will pretend to know what teen boys back in the day were thinking about. Wish me luck! If I come up with a decent outline in the next two days I'm signing up for the SpN BB. (waits for the cheering-*cricket, cricket*)

1/27/12 12:10 am (UTC)I listened to my parents swing music and my uncles 50's collection, but wouldn't touch country with a ten foot pole and rarely missed a weekend of Casey Kasem.
Ditto, substituting Casey with Don Cornelius. ;)
I thought that I'd use to music to give hints to each kid's personality, not that the music will be a huge presence, more of a little background flavor. It's funny, I had elaborate playlists to write to, but only really used music in a fic once--which was a lot of fun but very labor intensive, hah!
Anyhoo, I have to listen to this music Red suggested, but I know that one kid listens to pop, the other to a little rap and one to music that would have been a little adventurous, considering their ages (13-15 at the moment and subject to change depending how my slash muse moves. lately she's been kind of hands off. *g*).
No shutting up girl--it's fun to talk about writing!!
