Do I *really* need to know what chocolates were in a Whitman's Sampler box in 1924? Does the reader really give a shit? Stop procrastinating and get to the good parts. :(

As someone who spends their day either doing proofing or hearing about other people proofing, I appreciate your attention to detail! Reading things at work like "chocolate moose" and "serf and turf" and "nip it in the butt" make me appreciate the intelligent people on livejournal all the more!

Is it me, or do things like "serf and turf" and "nip it in the butt" happen more often now? Almost every story I read now-a-days has something like that floating in it. 'Tow the line' is a really popular one. And you're/your is almost unforgivable! All you have to do is read fanfic, for cryin' out loud, to know how to use that one.

Definitely more often now. It's like people don't read. I have a whole group of people who don't know basic crap and should be embarrassed. Apostrophes? Forget it! Commas? Apparently irrelevant.

It makes me weep that people leave high school like this, let alone college.
