Yer Mother's a wee bit annoyed

Bear

Bare
Don't use bare when you mean bear! As in "Dean could not bear the guilt. Any guilt. All the guilt. Guilt over all the things." He does not bare the weight of all that guilt.
I mean it. Stop doing that.

10/17/13 03:56 am (UTC)My peeve is people who are obviously trying to approximate things they've heard out loud but never seen written. A classic example, dating back to the fanzines of the '60s and '70s, or so I'm told, is "torcher." (As in, "The Klingons decided to torcher Captain Kirk.") The one that's especially bugging me right now, though, is "one in the same." Seriously, people? If you're going to write something, read something!

I agree so hard--read, people, damn it! Pick up a book and learn something!
