Despite my continued lack of plans to read SPN fic in general and Wincest in particular, I'm still pulling for dragons and will continue to do so until I see them posted. I'm weirdly determined that way.
I...see. Well, I'll take your slightly stalkerish tendencies into account while I mull over this decision. Mind you, they will definitely be Wincesty dragons. Does it make it different if they're dragons? Will the other dragons reel back in horror if they find out? Hmmmm...*strokes chins and stares out into the distance*
I think dragons would have less of an incest taboo. God knows why I think that, it just the impression I get. Maybe because my mental image of dragons has them disdaining everyone, family or not, equally. (Except for Smauglock and John; clearly that's true love of some sort or other.)
Anyways, the point is I think the other dragons *would* reel back in horror. Not because they're *brothers* in a romantic relationship, but because they're brothers in a *romantic* *relationship*. Who forms relationships; that's gross. (It's the discriminate and switch.)
Whenever I think of dragons, I think of Pern dragons, with the mindmeld, soul-bond, family/tribe kind of thing. Are they still dragons if they don't roll in shiny tons of gems and gold? (and probably roll after roll of aluminum foil and lots of beach glass)
I think dragons are like trolls; there's just way too many different versions out there for anyone to tell anyone else their version is wrong. Throw at least a handful of scales it there somewhere (even the feathered ones look like they have *some* scales) and you're golden. By which I mean dragons are also like porn; you can't really come up with an all encompssing definition of them, but you know 'em when you see 'em.
Unrelated, I really need to cut back on the semi-colons. It's getting out of hand. (See, I almost just used another one there!)
I don't know about easy or not, but I've been having a lot of fun writing Smauglock (aka Sherlock from BBC's Sherlock is the dragon Smaug from the Hobbit) fic.You an do all kinds of interesting things playing with dragon stereotypes.
Wow--that seems like a perfect fit. I can see Sherlock as a dragon easily. It's been a bazillion years since I've read The Hobbit, so I don't really recall the dragon's personality.
Well I can't really take credit for the Smauglock thing. That should go to the brilliant casting directors for The Hobbit who, after already making the extremely well-advised choice to cast Martin Freeman (aka John Watson) as Bilbo, followed it by casting Benedict Cumberbatch (aka Sherlock Holmes) as Smaug.
Personality-wise Smaug is vain, selfish, self-centered, proud... pretty much Sherlock without the squishy John-loving underbelly.
Can't we have both? Its a REALLY hard choice to make this early in the year @_@ lol I too am inclined to vote for wolves because everyone elsewsnts dragons( and because I love wolves ;0) But I know anything you do would be awesome. P.S: I will be cheering for top!Dean. I really don't see any other way <(^_^)>
YES! Um, both. But if only one, then wolves. Because--wolves. Giant, panting, muscle-y, heat-rolling-off, steaming in the snow, head down, eyes looking up at you from under heavy brows, thick soft ruff you can dig your fingers into and hold on, slowly waving plume of a tail, mile-eating loose-muscled gait, big feet (with furry toes!) happy puppypile playing, deadly snarling protectors, wolves!
