Good news! We talked to the surgeon yesterday, and he was certain, looking at Mr. R's scans, that there was *no* tumor on the pituitary gland. He said that it was swollen, but this was also extremely common and not anything to worry too much about. Blood tests will come next and if they are clear, all he has to do next is get another scan in six months. Doctor said there may be a possibility that Mr. R is experiencing ocular migraine without pain. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? He isn't experiencing any other migraine-like symptoms.

I'm so beyond relieved I actually feel a little stunned, guys. I'm so glad that I can share some good news with you!

Thank goodness about the non-tumor!

I sometimes get an assortment of migraine symptoms without the actual headache, and now that I'm not bewildered and scared about what-the-heck is happening (since a doctor explained it to me), I'm very cool with the omission. Sometimes it's a stabbing pain in one eyeball + nausea, or eardrum pain + neck pain, or whatnot. Sometimes my vision and/or mood will be off-kilter for days before I get additional symptoms.

Hugs!

J

Oh man--that must have been so scary, not knowing what the hell was going on! He's complained about neck pain sometimes too, but with his job, we pretty much blame everything on work. I'll tell him to pay more attention to odd aches and pains. And thank you! :)
