I liked it--I've liked the last few as well. Jensen got to have fun with his character tonight and I really enjoyed it. I couldn't help comparing it to some fanfic I've read on the same subject and you know, Show did a pretty good job with this very popular trope. They caught the laughs something like that can produce, but touched on the sadness, too. Show slid nicely from "Oh, Dean, you so silly!" to "Holy shit, stop making me cry!". They wrapped it up nicely too--thoughtful end lines. And then moved on the weirdest shit I've ever seen on SpN. Ya'll come back and tell me what you think of the very, very last shot. *koff* If your brain didn't go where mine went, than gosh darn it, I'm a pervert.

2/10/17 06:59 am (UTC)How can such a manly man not be so aware of how freaking sexy he is. I just wished they'd pulled back a bit on the bull a few times. And wow, I've tried to ride one of those, Jensen rode it like it was Jared and he wasn't letting go, so fluid and graceful. He really is such a physical actor.
And yes, there was so much silly, goofy Dean, but then that scene in the bathroom was gutting. How many other actors could have pulled that off so convincingly? Just beautiful. And concerned, protective Sam was such a joy to see. Just a blockbuster episode, my fav to date.

2/10/17 10:29 pm (UTC)I wondered if he really rde it--it looked like a hard thing to do, but he's really kind of graceful, in a manly mannish way. ;D
He was cute and adorable and goofy through most of the ep, but man, that scene...goosebumps! There was real horror at that moment.

2/11/17 05:28 pm (UTC)I really liked this episode. I especially liked that little chat between Rowena and Dean. I feel like her saying that he is a killer, but for the right reasons is going to come back at the end of the season.

2/14/17 07:03 am (UTC)Granted, this ep was a little close to home for me. My dad was just diagnosed with Alzheimer's, so... yeah, the post-it notes left everywhere and the scene where Dean couldn't remember who he was, etc... just hurt. :(
That last sequence was a little weird, and was definitely a fangirl fantasy fulfillment moment - but I think it was more intended to be a poignant, sad reflection on how Dean's childhood was stolen from him and all he has now are little moments like riding that bull. :/ He finds his fun where he can because really, his entire life at this point is darkness and suffering. :(

2/14/17 12:29 pm (UTC)I agree with you about the end--it seemed like just a fun moment for us, but the lyrics of the song made it really sad..
