weeeeell, the fourth wasn't bad, not bad at all! We had good food, and good laughs. My wonderful best friend J and her mom came and so did my sister, who was in good shape, willing to talk with us, and I was able to get her to do more than just sit and stare at the TV. We sat outside while she had a cigarette and had a pretty good talk, almost like old times.

I was going to post a long blather about race and friendship and expectations, but I changed my mind. Instead, let me once again remind everyone that Mr. R is a BBQ god. heck yeah. ;)

That's sounds like a fantastic 4th of July to me. That holiday has always been about family to me because the matriarch of our family, who died a few years ago, had a birthday on that day. We'd all gather for a reunion somewhere to celebrate with her. It was always wonderful fun. I'm glad you had such a nice day too. And rock on Mr. Roxy!

*sigh* I have a nice July 4th icon from taliosi_x, but I can't upload it to DW - the format is wrong and I don't have time to convert. So I'm leaving you with lots of pretty to stare at.
