You know, waaay back in the day I read a Butler story in Asimov's that freaked me out completely--I haven't read anything by her since but now that I'm less tender, maybe I should check her out again. So far I'm just working through killabeez and esorlehcar's recs lists, so I haven't stumbled across enough badfic to notice, really. Sometimes Dean cries a lot, I guess, or talks about his *feelings* in words of 2 syllables or more ... and then there are the ones where Sam is a selfish meaniepants, which--wha? (Your Sam, of course, is just one big hormone who wants to make Dean happy -- he's only teasing because he *has* to. I'm so glad I'm not 15 any more.)

Now, now, you know I never reveal the names of any fic that hurts me. And yes, it usually involves too much crying, or declarations of love that are only halfway acceptable if you're a ten year old girl, and of course my Sam has perfectly good reasons to be ....self-centered? A bit of a tease? An evil raging stew of undirected lust and hormones?
